'98 alternator one wire operation???
(Don't know if thiss will help because my car isnt running yet), for some reason the junkyard cut the alternator harness so i ordered a replacement connector that came with just one wire, the alternator should have a 12v battery wire and its case gounded, voltage regulator is built in, so it should only need one wire to power the coil, and i think the other wires are for voltage gauge and to turn off battery light when its charging not needed unless your car came with an ls1
