going to be busy this weekend:
Got the harness and computer back. The harness was reworked to leave only what I need. Everything was labeled, relays put in and a fuse block. The computer was programmed for my application, deleting all unnecessary stuff.

Feels like I got hit with a sledge hammer in the face. i have a 102 temp with a sinus infection. I all i got done this weekend is pull the engine and transaxke.
later this week, once I feel better, i will run the harness and start fabing up the exhaust. I hate being sick!

So I think I have the engine in for the last time... I had to move the exhaust a bit do to the fit. Needed about 1" on each side.
Harness is on, I need to pick up some parts I ordered from Bob Johnsons. Then I have to figure out why the harness has a three wire MAF plug and the MAF has like a 4 pin out plug.
after that its put in the oil, connect the starter and turn the key for a test fire.
then build the cooling system.
I pulled the bumper off to better see the engine/exhaust in the car for fitment.

Here is a recap of yesterday and video at the end trying to start it. I am working on the starting issue today. any ideas, please post.
Anyone in the Rochester, NY area that wants to help? Beer and food covered and I will owe you a huge favor.
this is what I am looking at 1st:
Check that:
1) THe hot wire of the injectors is hot when the key is on. Btw, they are firing order specific.
2) the coils have juice running to them when Key on. Also that ground to the coils are good
3) Crank position sensor has 5V and Ground when hot.
4) Cam position sensor " " " " "
If there is no fault in the above, then we have to get more in depth. Need to log into it with HPT via the OBD2 port to see if there are any SES lights/codes. Then see if there is Tach input to see if the pcm can "see" the motor.
short list left for tomorrow then I turn the key:
Taking a break. Getting there:
Just for an idea of scale, I am 5'5".
to do list.
they line up better now.
anyone what to help trouble shoot? It's hard to check spark and injectors with one person.

I am getting voltage to the injectors.
I tried to scan the computer (with the "key" in the on position) my scanner does not see the computer.
Tomorrow I am going to swing by the salvage yard to pick up another ECU, see if it is the computer or something else. There is hot to the computer. I can here all the relays clicking.

Is the voltage to the injectors staying hot while cranking? If not, then that means the computer isnt properly wired on the constant hot while cranking side. An injector noid light is absolutely necessary when doing these swaps. Also, if the scanner isnt receiving any input from the computer then the computer maybe fried. But then too, it could quite possibly be that the diagnostic hookup isnt properly wired. I had a similar problem with the computer not being wired with a constant cranking hot and the diagnostic port wasnt properly wired. Talk about a frustrating episode. Just remember to stay full of patience and triple check all possibles. Btw, thats one helluva swap you got there and its going to rock when its finally completed.

Nice cage. This swap is getting more and more popular
Interesting cooling setup. Got any more pictures? Will you be running tandem radiators fed from the rear quarter windows? Nice work man, hope you can get this thing on the road asap. Good luck and keep up the progress.

Well I am now very proficient working with an LS1wire harness.
unfortunately that was not the problem. I have to only assume that the guy I purchased the engine from truly did not know what was wrong with it.
compression test results:
cyl 8 90 psi cyl 7 10 psi
cyl 6 0 psi cyl 5 120 psi
cyl 4 125 psi cyl 3 120 psi
cyl 2 130 psi cyl 1 115 psi
looks like i am going to have to find another engine. I am going to do a leak down test on 6, 7 and 8 later to see if it is valves or rings.
