thanks man. he charges $1000+ depending on how complicated they are, space requirments, how hard it is to get to them to build them etc. Thats the closest estimate he could give me by just going off what i told him. he said the most hes ever charged is $1600 for a set of headers, so i dont see mine being more than that. im gonna guess mine will be about 13-1400.. it helps i can remove my front clip so he can get in there easy. just stuffing (4) 1-3/4" tubes in this tight space. im also estimating high so when i go to pay its cheaper than i thought.. i hope

column and wheel.. ididit is a little different from flaming river so i took the column apart to see how it needs to be shortened, simple still, but more work than a flaming river. so if you are gonna have to shorten a column, get flaming river.

Is that the brake master cylinder linkage living under the dash? Are you going to have enough room for power or will it be manual?

What was wrong with modifying the original frame with the new suspension? It is a LOT of work to build a custom frame. Were you in the mindset of "since I have to replace all the front and rear suspension I may as well make rails to attach them?

yes thats the master cylinder linkage. it will have manual brakes.. a vette master cylinder. it all fits. will be a bitch to fill, but yeah.. i kind of though about remove reservoirs, but i think they have to be higher than the master cylinder, and thatll be hard to do.

yeah.. no point in keeping two factory bulky ugly rails when swapping all the suspension. plus i would have had to cut the floor for the rails to get the body to lay on ground.. this way i didnt have to. building a full frame wasnt quite as bad i thought.. just hope it drives straight!

That was my next question... how to fill. Hahahaha I'm having a vision of a small pump like the Mity Vac to push fluid in the reservoir as the first fill and later as necessary during the bleeding process. Slow but it works, I've done it.

I can dig that. I figured that was the objective. I hope you did your math right too.

thanks. and i didnt get that lq4.. guy backed out and sold it local. so ive been reading around, and might just stroke the 5.3

no, but it appears to be popular one to take pics of hahaha

me and some friends went to junkyard today and my buddy showed me these locks. i love em. so we yanked em off. i sprayed some wd-40 on them and got the covers moving smooth. i had to cut off the arm on the backside that is supposed to attatch to the door lock mechanism. it will need to be modified. but i am going to take them to a locksmith and see if he can cut a key for them first. if not.. they will just look good in there.. i to modify the hole for them.

Nice video of the locks, that's even better now that you have keys!

I saw the band saw in the last photo. I have the exact same one I bought maybe 10+ years ago. Fabrication wise I think it has to be one of the best investments I ever made!

yeah my dad bought that one atleast that long ago. been great. built three or 4 other cars, and used for countless other projects. just had to replace bearings in it. one fell apart so we just swapped in all new ones

ran out of metal.. guess ill stop by home depot and see if they have 1x1 so i can finish the last little bit of frame work.

Probably right about that. You could buy 1/4 of the display from one of the metal dealers for what they charge for 2 sticks at a hardware store. I'm assuming this is an "I'm motivated and want to make progress on Sunday" moment, right?

This truck is looking good. I like the closed bed idea, it makes everything look a lot more professional. I think I may know the answer but what color are you going to paint it?
