My intake consist of 3.5 exhaust pipe and a 3.5 k&n filter. I enlarged the stock air filter hole in the fender by folding the metal over so it had no sharp edges and used that as my brace. Looking at this picture made me think how "at home" this engine looks in there. Just think if they came this way back in the 90's.

Did you lengthen the wires going to the pcm, or are they that long on all GTO's?

I did not lengthen any wires. Im glad you said that it reminds me. The PCM is mounted in the stock location behind the passenger kick panel. The stock harness reached just right. I did have to do a bit of trimming with the dash out to get the computor to fit comfortably it is so much bigger than the stock one. All the wires going to car, batt, dlc, gauges ect. I put on a pig tail so the harness will easly remove from the car if needed. The dash does not need to be pulled to slide it in and out either. I had to zip tie kick panel in place with all that behind it.

I paid extra and got the lowest mile six speed pull out I could find locally. I was really pleased when I started it it runs so smooth and the trans shifts like butter.Let me tell you this thing will absolutly fly. My first impression after easing into it was man this thing is torqy my first impression after flooring it was HOLY ****! The car came to me with a 3.73 rear. You can over power second by rolling in the throttle and power shift third if getting sidways at 50mph is your thing.
I was originally planning to pull engine and tranny and paint it up and do a head, cam and clutch. After driving it with this bone stock ls1 I can tell you it would be such an over kill for a street car. I can handle speed pretty well but there is not too many roads you can keep it full throttle for over a few seconds as is.

Very cool swap and so fun to drive, but as I tend to do I got it finished I saw a 72 firebird for sale and thought that would be cool with an ls1 It was then that I relized I have seven vehicles and thats one to many for two people.(by relized I mean the wife told me lol) and sold it soon after. Finishing up this thread really makes me miss it. Cool thing is out of all the people on this interweb original owner from NC (stationed out of country) saw my ad and made arangments for payment next day. As soon as his brother got it home for him they took it to the dyno and it made 337hp he was talking about them making some changes to the tune for a litte extra power so I guess that was before tune numbers. He mentioned putting a supercharger and auto trans in it in the future. His brother said he usually starts thinking of selling cars as soon as he gets them. If any of you out there see it around an update to this thead would be cool.

Thanks guys. Local Mustang guy said you can get these coupes down to 2500 by stripping em down. I added back heater box, radio, wipers, carpet plus the remaining roll cage and sub frame connectors.I would guess 3000lbs give or take a couple hundred. That is what I will miss the most. This fire bird I got is a pig.

I see thatCobra Motor swap Cop Car on a weekly basis. He works up here at 50Resto with me. I've caught plenty harsh comment from the Ford guys for putting a LS motor in a 86 coupe. It's all good though I did it for research purposes and to have a fun toy to play with as well.

you need some #7 badges to change out that zero on the sides of the car so it will read 5.7 instead of 5.0
nice fox there, you wouldn't even know it was rockin that many horses until you mash the peddle I bet.
