So what's the secret (fbody 2001) - I know its like a cam lock and should twist off but I've tried twisting, pushing and twisting, and pulling till I'm blue. Gotta be easier than what I'm doing! -Bob

Are you talking about the composite extension? If it's like my truck engines it is a b!@(# to turn. There IS a cam lock on it and once you get past that it will nearly fall off. It unscrews the same direction as the oil cap.
Hope this helps.

I've had them as easy to remove as the oil fill cap, and next to impossible to remove. I think if the o ring drys up it kinda seizes on. I looked at the back of a valve cover, but didnt see anything to push on to make it easier to remove. I'd just try a big pair of channel lock plyers if it were me.

Well an 8" pipe wrench works!! There is a little tab that needs to be depressed if you knew it was there (I didn't and about half of it broke off - but I think its still usable) - I couldn't see it from the back side.
