Yep, custom fabbed. The bushings can be bought from Energy Suspension. Just check out the catalog and find the right size for the pipe you plan on using.
The reason I went custom is because I wanted the motor to sit as low as possible. You could try one of the many venders out there that sell LS1 motor mount kits?

Sorry for the late replys. I should check in here more often!!
Just buy a complete C6 chassis and call it a day!!!
Thank you. Unfortunately, it won't be on the road anytime soon. Too many other commitments.
Thanks!
I was talking with Bob and Nancy, the owners of a candy red 55' when I was at Barrett this year. He said he had 400k into his. Sold for $140k. That's taking a **** kickin'
As for the Oilers game....it'll have to be in the regular season lol
I've seen a tri five dash in a 59 Impala done before. Not in a 63, so you can still claim to be the first ;-). How many tanks of welding gas you use already?I think you should have cut the middle of the dash and made a filler peice to make the dask abit wider. You going to be running a/c?, fill the factory heater control hole and put in a nice vintage air controller.
In order for the dash to look correct, I'll need a second dash. After the humps, they tapper downwards. I want the dash to run flat across the top. I'll have to cut in the center of each hump and move it to the opposite end.

great build. I am 8 years into a 65 Impala LS swap. Did plenty of frame repairs, floor and trunk replacement (one piece'ers), and plenty of fabrication.
I was watching BJ auction at my parents the other day and my mom says 'man look at that car selling for 100k, that guy made a fortune'. I crack up laughing and tell her that the guy probably lost 50k. I ask my mother how much she thinks I have in my car? she says 10k. I am still laughing at that.
Nice to see someone who has more money in their ride than I do. I did add about $1500 in parts I'll never use last weekend.
Good luck with the car. I plan on driving mine to AL, maybe Ill look you up when I go to an oilers game.

Only updates so far. I rolled a few beads into the the trunk pan to stiffen it up. I'll need to heat and shrink in a few spots. In the end, it'll all be cover by carpet and the fuel tank.

It's been a long time since I've put any work into the rag. But managed to get a few things done so I could take it to a couple shows.
I decided that I didn't want the factory body mounts so I started fabbing a new sets.
This is the first one that I built for the rear.

I needed to build a caged nut for the firewall mount as I will be plating over the opening.

With the humps switched around, I cut the bottom half off as I will now be making the dash face wider to hide the a/c, wiring etc.

The each hump needs to be in the center of each seat so it looks right. In order to do that, I needed to add 4.5" to the middle.

I had the firewall piece cut for a few weeks now and finally had a chance to get it fitted into place. It was either 1/8 or 10 gauge.
Made a plastic template making it easier to see what was behind.

What an amazing build! Thanks for all the pics as you progress...Im building a 64 Bel Air with a ls powerplant as well. When you smoothed out the firewall did you remove the factory firewall or just weld your template over the existing firewall? I like your idea of welding all the body braces fully and the caprice tank idea. Curious as to where you will be placing the filler tube to the tank. Subscribed!!! Great work!

You're welcome. I hope that by posting up some of the how I did it, it might someone else out. There are so many different ways building cars. I don't keep secrets on how I did something, there is no point.
The firewall piece is one solid piece placed on top of the factory firewall. All humps and bumps were removed so it would sit tight.
As for the gas tank tube, not 100% sure yet. I'll have to get the tank in place to see how I can make it work. Might have to do some kind of hinged bumper piece or have it come into the trunk floor?
