Well i made the decision to save myself around $500 and make a simple notch in my crossmember and use the truck pan which hangs below the crossmember just as much as the h3 pan does, if the h3 would have tucked completely above the crossmember i would have bought it but that just seemed like a waste of close to 200 bucks for that, and on the headers shorties dont flow allll that much more than manifolds, yes i know they do but if i was gonna spend 300-400 on headers they would have to be long tubes. For my future plans manifolds are exactly what i need also...

So over all i didnt order those things because it simply seemed like a waste of money lol... Ya it makes things a bit easier but if you are attempting to do a swap notching the crossmember and cuttin flanges off manifolds and adding under a foot of pipe shouldnt be too tough...

Got a little bit of stuff done today. No pics as of right now as nothing was too special. I got the fuel pump and reg/filter mounted inside the frame rail on the passenger side and measured out how much fuel line i need to order along with the couple fittings left to complete the fuel system.

Also got the flanges cut off the manifolds and did some clearancing needed on the drivers side a arm (just grind down an area to get more clearance). I need to get about 4 feet of exhaust piping so i can get everything figured out for angles then get them welded all up and get o2 bungs welded in them.

Would have liked to get more done today but kinda at a stand still until i order more parts. Plan on ordering up the fuel line and fittings, exhaust piping, pushrods, and some gaskets/bolts needed to finish up everything on the fuel system and motor this coming weekend. After that stuff is ordered i'll just need rad/fans, o2's, MAF, fab up a cold air intake, few misc small fittings bolts and gaskets, starter, shorter my driveshaft, wiring harness and a few small finishing touch things and the drivetrain should be done and should be able to be started then i just need to finish my interior up. Coming along very well and im very happy.

looking good. i have an 88 dime i tore into and started a frame off build. i realized i wanted to do it right and take my time, so i tore into my other vehicle, a 96 v6 mustang. the mustang can get finished a lot sooner. itll be getting an ls1 which i have already. i figured id work on the bugs and gain the experience on the stang and then later do the s10.
your truck is coming along great. keep us updated

build looks good man!me and my friend built a s-10 last winter.went pretty much the same route your going except his is a square body s10 with a old school 350 cagged out and gutted with a fuel cell in the back on bottle...got an idea for a cheap bullet proof rear end for ya.we used a rear axel out of a 80'-94' four cylinder 4x4 toyota pickup.they are built just like a 9 inch with larger axels than a 9inch.they are aslo 31 spline axels.they come with 4.11 gears factory just pull the thrid member out and weld the spider gears up.we picked one up for $100.my brother has built alot of toyota rockcrawlers.his has 38x15.50 tires and 5.29 gears and never broke one of these rear axels and so far the one in the s10 is going strong.

THanks for the idea! Do you know if those are the same length as s10 rear ends? i can deal with something that is a little longer (1-2inchs per side perferably)

Going on a shopping spree this weekend...

Bought so far-
- -6 pushlock hose for the fuel system
- all the fittings left i needed for the fuel system
- Volts gauge
- Battery relocation kit

Planning on ordering my wiring harness, ecm, MAF, o2's, rad/fans (LMK IF ANYONE HAS A SETUP), some more exhaust piping, Tach, aluminum for doorpanels and dash, and see how much cash i got left after that.

Yes all this is getting ordered this weekend! haha

Ordered my gaskets, TB bolts, Exhaust manifold bolts yesterday. Just sent my money for an ls1 f-body rad/fan setup from a member here today. Tomorrow the plan is to take back some fittings i dont need, return my vette FPR/filter to replace it with an aeromotive adj reg...

I'm changing some plans for the fuel system. Will be doing a return style setup with a Bosch 044 pump, Aeromotive adj regulator and FAST rails, along with 60lb Injectors. I figured i might as well step up the Fuel system now for future plans before i used the stuff i got and can't return it...

More parts should be coming in this week. GOt alot of stuff to do on the truck so i'm headed out to the garage now...

Did you order that black push-loc hose from Jegs? If so you CAN NOT use it for fuel. I learned this the hard way and when I bought(several years ago) mine it did not state in the description that it was not for fuel. The hose will break down and make a black goo that resembles used motor oil.

It sucks but I just had to order new hoses and I had to get the blue stuff from Russel.
