72 chevelle getting the ls2 with t56 Well i started my ls2-t56 swap on yesterday by removing the engine and 4speed tranny from my 72 chevelle.I've been wanting to do this swap for a while and now its time! I picked up a ls2 with t56 from a 2006 gto with low miles,i'm also doing front and rear dics breaks and a vintage air system.I will post pics as i go.

I made some progress today, i manage to get the engine and trans installed only after takin it in and out about 3 times.It turn out pretty good and i just received my vintage air system so its gonna be a busy weekend
car looks good. What are the specifications(oil pan, headers mounts)? What disc brakes are you going to be using. I hopefully will be adding ls1 brakes to my chevelle soon.

Thanks. I have the edelbrock header and mount kit from summit and i went with the ctsv oil pan. I'm going with a big brake kit from a guy i've been talking to off ebay.

Hey guys i haven't posted in a while been doing alot of o/t at the job but its time to get back on the velle. I got back on it yesterday,i installed the tank but had a couple questions.The tank i ordered has three vent tubes on it ,do i cap two of them and use one for a vent? My other question is the clutch,i have an 06 ls2 setup and the master cylinder is smaller than the earlier ones and i have yet to find a bracket for it so i ordered an 04 master and the ends are not the same where it hooks to the slave so can i cut the ends and put a clamp on it. Will this work? Didn't want to remove the tranny.
Remove the transmission You are going to have to use the 98-02 FBody master cylinder and bracket that you show in the picture, but to connect it you are going to have to remove the transmission and install the corresponding 98-02 5.7 litre FBody slave cylinder to connect your line it is a direct bolt on, probably not what you wanted to hear but you can leave your bellhousing bolted to the motor and just remove the transmission itself and that will save a little time. You are going to have to use the 98-02 FBody master cylinder and bracket that you show in the picture, but to connect it you are going to have to remove the transmission and install the corresponding 98-02 5.7 litre FBody slave cylinder to connect your line it is a direct bolt on, probably not what you wanted to hear but you can leave your bellhousing bolted to the motor and just remove the transmission itself and that will save a little time.
