Clearance prob with F-body water pump
I have an 07 5.3. The F-body water pump is hitting the timing cover, preventing it from going all the way back. I would say it needs to go back another 1/8 inch, with the gaskets in place. I could make some spacers to fill the void, but I was wondering if anyone else had this problem with the F-body water pump on the truck blocks.

According to this, your engine has Active Fuel Management (aka Displacement On Demand) with Flex Fuel (e85) capability. I thought those engines used a different (deeper) timing cover due to the cylinder deactivation bits. I'm not sure so don't count this with info from your favorite religion's owner's manual, it could be my mal-adjusted brain incorrectly filing something. I have never researched those engines beyond what I have stumbled across looking for other information, I'm merely tossing out ideas. I typically stay in the 2000 - 2004 range for this very reason.
Hope this helps.
