LSX with TH350 MPG?
Anyone on here that has the set up in something? TH400 would give me an idea also. I know that these are not ideal trans for MPG, just trying to see what these LSx motors can do with them, my mild sbc 350 is getting between 9-10 right now and it is very mild, (but this is in a jeep so aerodynamics are not helping me.)

If i do it it will be fuel injected, I have not decided to do it yet however. When i first started my jeep project i wanted to do it with an LS1 and 4l60e, however at that point they wanted like $5,000 plus for a pullout and I was going to high school working part time so did not have funding for it. Not to mention all the swap stuff was not availible yet and less companies doing the wiring harness stuff. But now that the prices have came down on some of the motors I am still wanting to do this and have been thinking about maybe doing it. The engine in it now a a crate 330 deluxe with an edelbrock carb. It has shorty headers with 2.5" exhaust and we have tried to tune the carb to get it as efficient as possible, however i manage to get about 9 or if really lucky 10mpg, (doesnt really seem to matter much if highway or city maybe changes .5mpg). The engine in it runs great so it is hard for me to decide if i want to start something like this, however i really like the lsx style motor and know there is so much potential with it. I will be keeping it a fairly streetable gear with a 3.73 and 33" tire.
I don't know about that bro, are you talking about highway driving.....?
I have never seen a car that revs around 3000+ at 60mph get 20 mpg
I will tell you this it depends on the weight of the car, rear gear, and converter stall........
If you have anytype of performance gear above 3.42+ .... now you tipping towards less efficiency in terms of MPG...... If you use anytype of performnce stall 2500+ forget MPG...... I don't care how efficient it is the higher the stall kiss mpg goodbye....
Your hardest decision or compromise will be determining if you want street or strip......... To gain one thing you have to compromise another...... And with a 3 speed tranny, the only way to see any kind og MPG efficiency is to run a 2.73, 2.90,3.08,3.32,3.31,3.42 type gears ...... 3.73,4.11,4.30.4.56 for get it.......
