Bought an 84 Ramcharger in great shape but the 360 is a little tired. I'm going to take the ls1, computer, harness, etc out of my camaro. Just need to source a NP208, 4L60e(i still half want a 4l80e) I'll get started on the swap.

So far I have been in the 12's with this truck...everything still going strong, almost drive it everyday expect when I get my bike out...
If you plan on going over 400rwhp and do not have a reputable 60e builder stick with an 80e

Only reason I went 60e is because I build them for high hp cars and trucks...punishing this 60e and seeing what it can tack on one of my builds is a great way to help my transmission builds sell. Its hard to find good 60e builders...I've seen many people and companies build them ....well...not to my standards

Basically stock LS1 from my camaro, I have a set of stock 243 heads I'll probably throw on but that is about it. I plan on using for hauling stuff around so that is why I was thinking the 80e but after more research it might be easier to complete the swap and the 60 might be ok for my needs.
Good luck on the project

I WANT A VIDEO OF THIS TRUCK! Hearing an LS1 in an old pick up truck would be a sight to see and hear! Also, the sooner you get track times, the better. I'm also curious on the mileage, it's still a 3 speed right?

I had a deal with a local drive shaft place...made a 3.5in aluminum shaft 1350 joint for the LS1 Ram and a shaft/1350 joints for my buddies LS1 T56 Camaro..Prices were very fair and quality top notch
Just for comparison I weighed the stock 1996 transam steel unit I used for the initial LS1 Ram build 23.2 lbs with a 1350 yoke 32 spline...weighed the aluminum 1350 joint/yoke at 18.4 lbs balanced to Zero from the shop
