Very cool swap, but simply out of curiosity, did you consider a Cummins swap at all?

I love seeing people put LS motors in other vehicle brands, especially imports. Looks good, makes me wanna do a C-10 swap.

Yes, but I do not like the way a diesel sounds.....just my opinion

And the fact that I got this job done so cheap, cummins are pretty expensive, the only reason the diesels are fast is because of the turbo, I can turbo this motor and keep the great sound of a gas v8..again my opinion, don't want to upset anyone.

He then said how he was catching me, soooooo we agreed on a 15 roll with him leaving first..

Closer from a roll, but he went first and I had the passenger, still pulled ever so slightly

Sweet I've got an 87' with a Slant6 in it. Love to do an LS1 swap, but the Slant won't die and I can't take out a perfect good slant6, not many of them around anymore

Those slant 6s seem to run forever.

I just got my 2000 camaro instrument panel in the mail today, gonna take some time and wire it up in the Dodge Ram....Its gonna be the first mid 80's ram with a 155mpg cluster.

It will be nice to have all the gauges working with the ls1 computer, I just hope the fuel sender in the tank sends reading close enought to match the fuel gauge in the cluster, I guess I could always add a resister from radio shake to get it closer, I'll post up pics when i start wiring it up

Thats been debated, but with the weight of the truck it will feel like a dog if I tow or haul anything, I may do a few more bolt-ons just to get a 13.8-13.9, but other then that I better keep it more stock..

Might want to consider a beefier limited slip or a locker. Looked like one wheel peels to me.

Trans member is in same spot, in the first few pics the plates I welded to the front crossmember was all I needed to set the motor back
