Default another fueling question for the conversion

Hee everyone,
I trying to make the conversion piece by piece, motor as last.
Starting with making my car ready for all the stuff.
I am now buying the items for the fuel system.
-I will be running a custom made tank (best option for me) (should I use a
baffeld tank or put in fuel-cell foam form summit and others offer and cut
it to size?)
-I will be running it with a internal fuel pump assembly from a 01 CAMARO Z28
SS which I just bought from ebay.
-Then up to a '99> fuel filter/regulator and then up to the engine fuel rails.
This should do....or do I miss out....

! I still need to buy a 99'> fuel filter/regulator where to buy it for a normal price, on-line (we don't have a easy acces to order at a chevy dealer here in the Netherlands)??????????????!

Because it is hard to get parts, I would like to hook a universial (high volume?) fuel filter before it enters the regulator/filter thing, to save the filter/regulater unit. Any recomandations?

-And another: which size fuel lines do I need, I would like to run the pro-lite 350 hose/lines from earl's. So what size feed line and what size return line?

Can I also use those lines for the power steering? what size? and what kind of fitting do I need for the engine side and what kind and size of fittings do I need to go with my '72 GM steering box??????

-and yet another: What size are the LS1 radiator hoses and what size are the heater hoses and what size should the throttle body purge line be.
Any other lines I forget?that are on the engine or what so ever (I will be using a braided lines kit for the trans cooler, so not those)

I would like to use the same kind of line/hose apperance all true and I would like to buy as much as possible at once. that's why...

I hope you guys can help me out with all my questions.
sorry for the long story.
Thanks
Peter Timmermans

I used the inline 40micron Russell fuel fitting with AN fittings before the filter/reg unit and before the pump. Available from Jegs or Summit.

I used 3/8 feed line and 1/4" return. For most horsepower levels you are more than adequate with 1/2" feed and 5/16" return.

For Steering, I used Russell stuff again. They have converters for the steering box to go from 11/16" and 5/8" flares to 6AN. Then use their ps braided hose (not the same as fuel hose), I used 6AN and then another converter for 6AN to 14mm oring fitting on the LS1 ps pump. This is listed in Jegs or Summit. Visit Russell Performance's website for the part numbers.

The hoses on the water pump I think are like 1 5/8. Don't remember. The steam hose can be like 5/16 rubber or even 1/4".

Thanks alot for all your help.
You said, not to use same as the fuel line, but the ealr's 350 braided line is up against 300 psi should be enhough for the power steering isn't?
Another thing my brake booster needs a vacum, can I get that from the LS1?

Can anyone tell me the part number on the vette fuel filter/regulator?
I also need another fuel pump, the ebay seller stud me up and gave me a refund, that's ok wasn't sure I had the right one anyway, what internal LS1 pump with sender to use with the vette filter/regulator mentioned above, any year I should look for?
Thanks guys can't wait to hear from you again.
I will be making a list with all info like this after and during the swap, hose sizes and fittings etc.

The 98 and up LS1's have the regulator on (or near) the fuel pump inside the tank. The fuel rail has a surge suppressor or something like that, but it's not a regulator. The only LS1's that had an external regulator were the 97 vettes. You will notice only 1 feed line on 98 and up, the other line is to the evap tank.

Oh and on the fuel stuff, just get in touch with Speed Inc. >>>>> one of our sponsors, those guys will help you out. Email them.

On a side note I personally would go with a sump and external pump then regulate it by the rails and run a dump line.

Anyone have any good images of how their fuel system is set up showing the filter, regulator, fuel rails, etc. with all the AN fittings and such?

Ok thanks,
again about the fuel system, I did alot of searches but that just confusses me.
I would like to run only one line from the back to the motor. I would like to use an stock internal fuel pump and is nessary a regulator/filter thingy.
I sure what engine I will buy, but I am aming for a f-bdy LS1 form '00 or up.
What internal pump year to use and do I need the regulator/filter from the vette?
Do I need the evap tank, don't like have to much stuff on th car.
That's why I was thing a LS1 internal fuel pump with a '97 vette style regulator/filter and ten up to a '00 or up fuel rails?
will this work?
thanks guys

Absolutely not! The power steering pressures can reach 2500psi.

So, use the Russell Braided PS line. Looks the same as your Earls stuff, just with no rubber underneath.

If I was building a hybrid, I would get sumped tank and run an external fuel pump. I would get fuel rails from Speed Inc. and then run all braided line.

That's basically what I have in my car.

Thanks guys, I now understand I really need special PS hose and hose ends, but wouldn't it also be better to reduce some of the power steering pump with the use of the orginal GM steering box?

I like the internal pump because of the low noise and no extra room nessecary, and it all will function just like stock(I hope)
Thanks guys,
but please help me out on the transmission problem I have, please take a look here: https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-swaps/130028-need-help-quick-will-combo-work.html

Thanks
Peter
