227/235 114+4 cam
3pedals, what is the lift on that cam? Still seems nuts to me you are in the 11s. Is the tires-off-the-ground shot in your signature with the LY6?

Congrats!

I believe this is the cam he is using other then his is 114+4 instead of 113+4
http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/c...csid=1402&sb=0

So lift Intake 0.614 Exhaust 0.621

I am very seriously thinking about using the same cam or going custom with the same basic cam and do 110+4

Remember his car with drive is only about 3400 lbs and he has it working really nice. Wen he gets his 60' times down and a few minor changes he might hit 10's in the cool fall weather

awesome! gives my LY6 powered pickup something to shoot for. I was hoping for 12's....sounds like I should be able to get there when I find traction.

These are some great numbers! I also have a cam only LY6 but run just over a second slower with my 3.42s and stock converter 4L80e. I've got to get tweaking.

To be fair its not cam only. Headers, exhaust and intake are all part of the package too.

Nice setup there, along with some great times.

I'm looking to do a carbureted ls conversion on my '67 Camaro. Are you still using stock heads on the LY6? Also is that a Vic Jr. #28457 intake?

How's it run on the street? And how do you like the TKO600?

Splitting hairs, IMO.
I'm willing to bet with a stock truck intake and manifolds it'd still run 11's.

Very impressive, especially running 12s with the stock cam.
Did you make any passes with the stock cam and 4.56s and the better tires?
Thanks

I'm sure the heads are stock. These heads make stupid numbers stock.

Thanks, I had a thread over on TC that he had already replied to before I asked over here.

I then installed a comp 227*/235* 114 used cam(from LS1tech classifieds) and a new set of patriot extreme valve springs, and ripped off a 11.39 @ 120.

there is a fair bit more in my combo too, but I need to work on my chassis setup and driving.
Looks like stock heads.

yes , stock heads , never been lifted off the block. Runs real nice on the street, could use a bit more compression, as it doesnt make alot of torque below 2500.
TKO is great all around trans, but I find myself drag racing more than street cruizing, so I'm going to switch it to a doug nash race 5 speed for full throttle powershifting.
Bandit - tires off the ground shot is ly6/comp cam setup Oct/2010

well I finally got to the track for a couple of runs. Didn't adjust anything...just made 2 runs. 2nd was 8.46@82.80 (1st was 8.63@81.71/1.97) with a 1.94 60'...not bad tho for the shake down runs but lots of room for improvement. Timing and carb need dialing in, left at too low rpm, etc..

Plan on working to get that down to low 8's, then maybe high 7's.

Pedals,

VERY impressive! Are you still running the stock 9.6 to 1 compression?

3pedals napa has a stepped down u shape bypass hose if your interested in removing those cooper fittings. Nice set up good luck with it. A quick search should reveal the part #.

HAHA, yeah, they are hideous arent they! I am pulling the motor this winter and going through it completely - heads will be milled, bigger cam, REAL GOOD valvesprings, flycutting pistons, maybe spend money on hollow stem LS3 valves, and check over everything in the bottom end and maybe install ARP rod bolts just because.
Plan is to rev it to 7700 at the shift points and see if 10's are possible
also have a moroso electric waterpump to eliminate this ugly copper fittingsLOL I'll pretty it up a bit...

I see you run a 6 speed, going fast with the MAN pedal is where its at!

seems to me that twisting it that far...you'll definitely want to go with the lighter valves.
