Had a little scare tonight at the drag strip. After running a couple passes to dial it in around 6.40 for running 10.00 ¼mile next weekend I swapped my drag radials for "hard" street radials because the track was paying $100 for the quickest ET on hard radials. I made a 7.08 pass at 107 mph test pass leaving very easy. For the money pass I added a 4th stage in the boost controller to bring in a couple more PSI around half track. It started spinning near the top of 2nd gear and when I bumped to third it just about turned sideways. I ended up winning the money with a 7.22 at 97 mph but I think that will be my last attempt on hard radials. The $100 will come in handy for next weekend's trip to LS Fest though.
The new methanol injection with winshield washer fluid (supposedly 35% methanol) kept my IAT within 6°F for the 1/8th mile pass. Way better than the 30°+ temperature rise I was getting before with just the air-to-air cooler. Just about ready for the trip to Bowling Green now.

Sounds like you have got her dailed in. Time to load her up and head north!!!

Thanks GNX7. The 5.87 pass was on 93 octane without anything else. Didn't add methanol injection until last night. I never did push it hard last night - kind of saving it for LS Fest. Once I get back from that I plan to lean on it some more with hopefully some better air than 2200' DA and 83% humidity.

Got a nice write up in Dragzine.com by Brian Wagner, highlighting the Nova from LS Fest. Hopefully I can soon add some better performance numbers. Should make it back out to the track within the next couple weekends and later this month I hope to attend a dyno day in Huntsville.

Ran a little quicker last night in the 1/8 mile. New best was 1.327 sixty foot and 5.744 @ 122.51 mph. While I did drive it 150 mile round trip to/from the track I did mix in some 110 octane to keep it safely out of detonation.

I was partially just giving my buddy in a mid-7 second Mustang a head start but more importantly just making sure I was all good to go before releasing the trans brake. The next race was a friendly grudge match with a friend's turbo Mustang that had already laid down a 5.95. He invited me to take the less preferred lane since I was faster. We had nearly identical reaction times (still slow at .151 and .161 off a pro tree - mine was quicker) he rolled out 6 inches and broke the transmission input shaft. I spun but at least made it down the track.
From this picture it looks like I need a little preload on the passenger side Caltrac bar, and I still need to replace the driver's side turn signal socket.

Sweet pic of your car leaving the line! Glad to hear you beat out your buddy. Always makes for good conversation later as long as you were the winner. As bad *** as that car is I don't think anyone is looking for lights working or not! Time to turn the wick up!!!

Finally a Dyno test:
Saturday a local facility had their annual fall dyno day. They ended up testing 41 cars in one day! I got there in the later afternoon but was able to still get a time slot.
My numbers came out 909 rwhp and 780 ft*lbs. While I was happy with topping 900 I had to stop knowing there is still more power potential. I wasn't able to rev above 6,000 rpm on the dyno. Almost like it hit a rev limiter. I suspect either the turbine .68 A/R or my full 3" exhaust with Flowmasters is limiting the total airflow through the engine. I'll be doing some further exhaust pressure testing soon.
Here's the dyno video - lots of wastegate noise:

The front tires are 165-15 "VW tires" and the front rims I think are 15"x4". I should probably upgrade to a speed rated front runner tire.
Lately I've been slowly putting together a pair of 3" exhaust cut-outs to help relieve the back pressure. I'm thinking the full exhaust and 3-chambered mufflers are holding me back on boost now. I've also setup a test pressure gauge to connect pre and post turbo to measure exhaust pressures. That will be an interesting test. Hopefully make it out to the track this weekend.
Also I'm going to pick up a set of 160#/hr Bosch high impedence injectors. No more worrying about duty cycle once I get them dialed in.
Several of us are putting together our version of a True Street race on November 23 involving a 40 mile cruise and then single elimination racing. I think we have about 12 or so in the top dog class. If I can hook at this track it should be fairly competitive. Have to sort out the exhaust and new injectors before that race.

Thanks BLK02WS6. It's not a show car and not fast enough to be a race car. It's just what my budget, skills, and equipment enabled me to assemble and tinker with. I've really enjoyed tweaking it and trying to make it faster.
Went slightly better yesterday, running a 5.71 @ 123 mph in the 1/8th. I'm finding the track prep has to be spot-on for me to make a full pass on these 275-60 radials. Huntsville Dragway gave the track a special prep yesterday for me to make that full run.
