L92 will turn but no start - help a newbie!!!
Hey guys. I finally got a new starter on this motor. Its an 07 and its been sitting for years. Finally, got it to turn but no start. It does not even sound like its going to start. No spitting, nothing.
Checked plugs and they spark while cranking.
I got Fuel as far as the rail where I disconnected the fuel line.
Checked fuses.
Car is in park with Brake applied when starting.
All fluids, oil and fuel are new.
I can hear the fuel pump when I turn the key.
Ideas?
L92 and 4L70E put into 68 Camaro.

Clogged fuel injectors?? They get gummed up from the fuel varnish and won't open or close. You can test them by removing them from the intake and flashing them with 12 volts. You should be able to hear them click, if not they're prolly frozen shut.

i had a few buddies cars that wont crank at first, seems like the lifters tale alittle bit to pump up...maybe that might be the problem...try alittle squirt of starting fluid in the throttle body too...

check that your coil packs racks are on the correct side if you took them off at any time maybe you got them back on the opposite sides. its a common thing that no one seems to know about. so your plugs may be sparking but because they are on the wrong side it would be completely out of order

Check the 12 volt ignition hot wire that supplies power to the ECM once u turn the key to the run position it should stay hot even when u turn the key all the way to crank it, i have a 70 chevelle with a ls3 in it with gmpp harness and the 12 volt ignition wire that i was using from the painless harness cut power while trying to crank so it would kill the ECM, i found a different wire to supply power and mine cranked right up.

Update. Just reading your ideas guys. Thanks.
Ign is hot during crank. Used a pink ign wire and checked it with voltmeter during cranking.
Coil packs-99% sure I kept the coil packs in the order they were removed. I thought firing order was determined by the wires firing them?
Is there a way to test this?
Have not tried starter fluid yet. Have not checked crank sensor yet.
Also, downloaded the tune and the vats security disable patch has been applied.
Thanks for the ideas guys. Additional input is VERY welcome.

The LS1/6-Vortec V8 factory coil harness must be orientated correctly with the cylinder bank that harness came off of. The most common troubleshooting problem is no start/backfire condition. If you are unsure which cylinder bank the coil harness came from, the easiest way to do this is to layout the coil pack harness for the L/S (driver side) cylinder head, the coil connector that will be in front (towards radiator) will be the number 1 cylinder. Taking a meter or continuity light, probe the terminal on the coil connector, terminal ID “C”, and touch the other end of the probe to the coil pack harness connector, terminal ID “G”. If you have no continuity, with the terminal probe still connected to terminal “G”, take the other end of the probe and touch it to terminal “C” on the opposite end coil connector, whatever end shows continuity , will be your #1 cylinder coil connector. Do the opposite bank (2,4,6,8) coil pack harness, with one end of the probe on terminal “B” on the coil pack harness connector, touch terminal “C’ on either end coil connector until you find which end will be the #2 cylinder (which will be orientated to the front of the engine on the R/S (passenger) cylinder head.

OK. So we have it narrowed down to the ECM and VATS. (EFI Forum).

In diagnostics it reads
ECM P0615 -FPHXNCS
I think this is the starter relay control circuit.
Update. Guys at EFI live programmed this relay pretest\prestart out.
Still no start. No node light on Injectors.
Open to any more ideas.
Thanks guys.
