LSX 376 or 454
And there's always nitrous

454 = bigger cubic inches,bigger cam,and .3 more comp.
376 = dinky cam,and gives up a few inches. Would a bigger cam help (yes) and how much ?

1. - be certain to know the tooth count of the crank sensor, you need a 6012 MSD for 58x reluctor, which I believe both of those motors have.
2. my 364 really like my 850 mighty demon, dont put a small carb on either 1.
3. 1 7/8" headers for sure
if $$ are an issue after purchase of the engine go to the junk yard for truck coil packs/starter/waterpump/alternator.
I mounted my alternator low on the drivers side, it VERY tight down there, but it fit with a custom made mount bracket, and the longer truck crank damper/pulley.
4. Use 1" setback mount plates to get the engine to fit to the trans, without having to move the trans/driveshaft.
5. you need a .4" spacer between the crank and flexplate.
I used a stock truck pan and cut it down, but in hind site I should have got a larger capacity pan - I like the Moroso 20141, but its remote filter fyi.
I'm sure there are more small details, but that all I can come up with off the top of my head.

I want to stay SBC (Dart block or LS)...I guess I'll have to check around the yards some ?
I guess I should start looking for an LS3

I agree, lot of performance for the dollar, but that is more than most guy's swaps.

$9600 isn't to shabby for an iron block-6 bolt main/6 bolt per cylinder- engine with a warranty and 620 crank hp.
Throw a different cam in there and maybe valvesprings if needed and bam that becomes 700 hp no problem.
