LS1 into 87 Camaro Problems
Ok, I have exhausted every road and now need the help of the LS1 community.
I am getting a zero start. It tried to start, but never kicks over. Ill post my vid up so you guys can hear it
Im getting pressure at the rail, 50psi.
Injectors are firing, you can smell the raw fuel in the exhaust (have LT's)
I am getting power to both left and right bank of coils.
For whatever reason, the coil's are not getting the signal to fire.
We thought it would be a bad ECM, so we swapped it on to my friends LS1 Camaro that has similar mods compared to my LS1. His car ran pefect, if not a little better the when he had his ECM hooked up.
I replaced the crank sensor last night, as that seem to come up as a problem fixer for a few issues.
Still nothing
I purchased the standalone harness from Speartech, and I cant believe that this harness could possibly be at fault.
The only thing I could possibly guess is the cam sensor. Cam sensor, I assume, gives input to the ECM when to fire, much like an old school distributor?
VATS was also disabled.
We have gone over ever connector, checked every ground, and made sure everything is 100%. Car is still not starting.
Once I get the vid uploaded from my phone, Ill post up the link. Im down for any guesses at this point.
I will say that none of the gauges are hooked up, but I cant think that would cause a problem.
The neutral saftey switch IS hooked up to the shifter.
edit: here is the the vid

A few items to check
1) The LS1 does require 57psi to start off with.
2) Are you sure that your VATS is disabled, if you research, many have problem thinking that VATS was disable, only to find it was not.?
3) Check Battery voltage to the PCM, low voltage has sometimes cause a no start problem.
4) Check to make sure you have good grounds (back of the heads for the harness).
Good luck.

Also, one of the pcm wires needs to be connected to a circuit that is hot in crank and run. I always just tie into the vehicle's distributor power wire since that is hot in start and run.
