Default 06'Mazda Miata/MX5 Swap

Hi Guys, I was all ready to build my 90' LS1 swap, even ordered a kit from V8Roadsters but ended up selling it to a buddy. So I moved up a few years, V8Roadsters has actually been using my 06' to prototype their kit. More to come...
Stock pics...

Wheels and tires for the new found power...

Fast forward quite awhile, haha...

Should have some engine mounted pics, next week, woohoo.

Heres the temporary CANBUS gauge cluster replacement. Still have to flock it and put the lights in it

Looks like the swap is going to turn out super clean, especially with that awesome looking crossmember. Can't wait to see more pics of the progress.

Guess I will just have to drool over the pics of the RX-7 until then.

Actually it is swapped or rather was. I pulled the engine to go another route and it has taken a back seat to the NC. Hope to have them both running during the summer

Nice, I've always liked those. Where are you located? You didn't get any of your parts from Dan did you?

Man.... Are you serious...I swear any time i talk to someone that has ANYTHING to do with a RX7 they ask if i know him

Yeah, i bought the 944 he was going to swap the LS1 into, and then bought the short block off another guy on Craigslist, and i found out later That guy was buying Dan's Complete motor...

I live in Fuquay, and work in Cary I am a tech at the Porsche Dealer.

Haha, I knew he had the 944 and was thinking on swapping it and remember Derrick saying someone local bought it. You bought Derricks motor then cool. How far are you into the swap? Build thread?

My swap is coming along well, I am going over the top on everything, so it's going slow, from doing a complete wire tuck with a hand built harness, to doing hidden hard oil/coolant/heater/fuel lines, only accy is the alternator etc. Hand built long tube 1 3/4 headers, Lots of pics, no build thread yet.... Going to do a large thread at the end. All that after doing a complete rebuild on the motor etc.

Nice project!!! Love that RX7! The gauge cluster is a temporary replacement? Gonna get it up and running then try to figure out the GM to Mazda gauge issues?
