all the wires got pulled up to by the computer where i taped it for easy wiring

Most of the wires got shortend with exception of a handful that needed a couple inches added

I bought LED's and resistors for my dash, but never got around to wiring them up, so i did that.

Then installed it in the car

And thats how it will sit until next weekend when i have time to work on it.

Well lets just say that last weekend didnt go as planned

but before i get into it i will post a few pictures of my oil pan in the car since i had requests for that

So i started out the weekend by trying to change the body mounts on my car. This turned out to end up taking a lot of time. When trying to remove the bolts, i got 3 out successfully, 2 broke, and 5 just spun. To deal with the 5 that just spun, i had to cut into the body to access the nuts on the back and either put a wrench on them or torch them off.

To get to two of them i had to open up my smugglers hatch

and then cut holes to access the nut

Once i got most of the bolts back in, i moved on to installing my jeep steering box, which should increase the road feel and the steering ratio.

Since my last update, I received my transmission back from Keisler, and it looked like it should be able to fit a lot better.

Before installing my transmission, I was required to measure my throw out bearing and my clutch to make sure that my throw out bearing will correctly disengage the clutch. After measuring this it turns out that since I'm using a standard small block bell housing with an LS motor i need a half inch of spacers behind the TOB. I also need an extended pilot bearing. Keisler was kind enough to give me these free of charge.

I then decided to install my transmission anyways to weld up my floor, but i ran out of time before i actually got to do this but it will take very little modification from what it originally was to make it fit

Keisler sent me the spacers that i needed so i i put them on and installed my transmission to the bellhousing

I installed the hydraulic line for my TOB while it was easy

Transmission in the car

Floor tacked

And fully welded

Also got my air filter so i threw it on

Then connected the hydraulic line to the clutch master cylinder

I installed my passenger side header, the driver side hits on the brake distribution block but i was aware this would happen so it was expected

Then i threw on the plug wires to see how they look, i may or may not shorten them.

So now that I'm done school I have had time to work on this.

I relocated the brake distribution block for header clearance

I made so new brake lines to go to it but seem to not have taken any pictures

Passenger side header installed

Then I have spent the last couple days wiring

Everything to the pcm is finally pinned, and the wires are tucked up under the dash.

Everything that needs ignition power that is in the car is wired to these two fuse blocks

My intake never came with a throttle cable mount so i made one

Then installed my throttle cable

I also repainted my brake booster since most of it was peeling

hopefully more updates soon

I was finally able to find a solution for my water pump. I found a fitting that went from 1" NPT to 1 1/4" hose. So i drilled and tapped my pump and installed that fitting, then i put a frost plug where the old neck used to be.

Then I painted it cast iron to match the block

Then i installed it on the car

Then installed some hoses. Finding a hose that works for the upper hose is still on the agenda

The power steering pump then got the same treatment

Seeding has slowed my progress but i have a few pictures that i can update
The valve covers also got the same paint treatment

Also got my clutch reservoir mounted and bled, along with the brakes

Last time i drove the car the brakes were really touchy and while bleeding them the rears were not getting a lot of fluid flow so i changed out the wheel cylinders. Hopefully it makes them better

Then i moved to the interior, and seam sealed where i cut out the floor

Long before i started this project i bought a radio to fit in the stock location but never got around to installing it

I will be mounting one speaker in the middle of the dash in the stock location and one in each rear corner of the cab

Mounted on the stock bracket

Then bolted it in place

The speaker ended up hitting the dash so i was in the process of modifying the bracket when we had to go seed so this is where it has been sitting for a while.

How are you mounting the speakers in the back?

I plan on doing a slanted box under the rear window lip. I am putting 2 5.25s and 2 6x9s.
No dash speakers.

I am just mounting them in the corners on the floor. I know sound quality wont be the greatest but i want them semi hidden.

Thanks, I got the fitting at Goodall Rubber. I don't know if they are in the states or not. It was around $9 i think but them i also needed to buy a 1" pipe thread tap that was $35.

yeah I figured the tap would be the expensive part. I looked at their site and it doesnt show it so I might have to call them. But Im also going to check with the local custom hose shop to see what they have. Maybe they can get it also. Thanks for the info!

Nice work! what are you using for a tensioner now that you've mounted the alternator where the stock one goes? can you post more pics of the alt mount? Thanks!

I am just planning to use a turnbuckle on the alternator and avoid using a tensioner all together. I would post more pictures but i don't really have any as that idea hasn't progressed at all lately

I initially planned on mounting the rear speakers on the floor at the back but after spending ten minutes with a piece of cardboard trying to make a template I just decided to mount them up under the small shelf below the rear window.

So i fabbed up some little enclosures for each side

They mount to some braces that run along the back of the cab

Then wrapped them in some nice black vinyl and mounted them up
Sorry for the blurry picture

Since i had a lot of the interior out i decided to dye it black
So I masked and cleaned everything up
Before:

And after:

Don't mind the steering wheel, there are plans to change that out.

The last of the parts that i need should be here by the end of the weekends so hopefully I can make some noise soon.
