Just running on motor alone this weekend. It was enough of a handful with 700+hp. Once I get the suspension tuned and enough seat time, I will eventually usethe bottle.

I love it already! Haha

I couldn't be happier running a 1.3X 60ft with an idle launch. I wasn't really ready for the kind of pull it generated down track and I imagine it will be fun for awhile as I fine tune it.

More pictures from the track photographer. I took these from his website and all credit goes to him for them (http://www.paklphoto.com/?Snapshots%21%21).

Who's nitrous kit and carb are you using? I'm wanting to run mine the same. I just can't find much info on spraying with E85. Next time you go to the track man, I'd love to go. I missed the Stang vs World race.

I don't have a kit installed yet. I have an NX setup, but will likely switch to a speedtech or other style plate when I am ready to install it.

I think a few companies have kits out, but it is really just about jet sizing. You are right though, not much info on spraying with E85.

My next track day will be in late April or late May if I miss that event. I've got some work to finish before I can go again. Need to seal up the firewall and install gromets around the holes I need to maintain, get a new harness, and have the car scaled and aligned.

What is that orange/brown dust that was coming out of your exhaust when you launched? You can kinda see it in the first pic above. Maybe rust from inside the exhaust pipes? Or is that something to do with running e85?

I have no idea, but I think it is just the camera/angle/light. The car doesn't really do that as far as I can tell. Haha

Then I would guess it is rust. The bullet mufflers and headers were used and the car has very little run time on it.

I don't imagine it is anything at issue with the car.

What harness do you need? I've got a full 02' LQ4 harness that I'm not using as well an my factory 95 harness. Might have the pieces you need. Funny you talked about the firewall holes, I read your thread lastnight again and I'm in the garage right now taking a break from patching up my firewall as well.

Sorry, I should have said that I need a seat belt/racing harness. The date on mine is expired and the tech guy complained.

Ah. Yeah same boat here too. Mine will be a few months before I'm on the track. Hopefully I'm a fraction as fast as yours!

Lol, good to know. Corn mean is probably the most likely cause of it. Haha

E85 is a weird fuel. It smells horrible in liquid form (like cheap liquor). When it is being burned in the engine, it really doesn't smell too bad but definitely a unique smell. My car has no cats and it doesn't give you that running rich eyes watering feel like normal gas does.

My car drinks a TON of E85 on a pass...even a partial pass. I would say that it was about 1 gallon per run between the driving, idle, burnout, and pass. I will probably bring 10 gallons to the track for a complete day of racing.

The cooling effects of the fuel are kind of weird when compared to what I am used to. My engine has an expansion plug rather than thermostat currently. At idle, I can't get the car over 150 degrees even with the fans OFF. After letting the car idle for 5-10 minutes in the staging lane and my most complete pass, the car was only 150-160 degrees on the return road.

If you are ever available a weekday this month man, I'd love to ride down and take a look at your car. I'm coming close to wrapping mine up in the next couple months and I'd love to see a "finished" product in person. I'm not working again until the end of the month so if its a possibility, I'd love the chance.

Send me a PM. I could probably meet up on a Tuesday or Thursday afternoon/evening. I wouldn't mind showing you the car.

My car isn't quite finished...but it is running. So much left to do! Haha

9 psi in the tires can be very silly off the line. I would never run them below 11-12 psi and even that can be a hand full to drive if the car does not go straight. My car with a 28x10.5 tire likes 12-15 psi. Anything lower than 12 and it wads the tire up like your's in that picture. It looks like your rim is almost bottomed out on the ground on the left rear. Too low of air pressure.

Has the car been aligned recently? Or did Kevin do it with those wheels on it? I check mine every time I change something with the susp or tires.

1.35 60' is awesome. It should do low 1.3's or even high 1.2's when you get it all lined out. Good job.

I haven't even had a chance to play with tire pressure yet. It ended up at 10.5ish psi after the burnout. I will try a bit more air next time and see what it likes.

The car hasn't been aligned since I did all of the work. A bit of playing with the car and running it through suspension travel, and it appears the darting is caused by a bump steer issue. I either need to adjust it or add some length to the rods. I plan on dropping the car off to get scaled, aligned, and the bump steer issue sorted out before returning to the track.

I'm happy with the 60ft time and I know it has more in it. The car went straight and was quite calm during the 60ft. It only got crazy down track before the 1-2 shift. The 60ft was off idle (1000rpm) or 2000rpm with the travel limiters on tight (very little travel). I hope to go 1.2s when on the t-brake and susp. dialed in.
