I need some help with a fuse/relay block
I am putting together a shopping list for my fuse and relay block and I have a few questions.
What type of relay does the main relay need to be, SPDT or SPST?
Will I need more than a 30A relay for anything? I am going to use the Porsche fans controlled by the F-body 3 relay setup, A/C and fuel pump.
What gauge wire should I get to wire the relay and fuse block? Is there anything I should look for when buying the wire, such as the type of jacket
Which OBDII diagnostic port do I need, early or late model? The harness is from a 2004 GTO and has only one serial data line. The PCM is a 2002 F-body. The late model uses a can bus system, not sure what that is.
Thanks, for any help.

Thanks, that is what I am using as a guide to help with the design. He doesn't go into detail on types of relays to use. I know for my the types of relays needed for my fans, starter and A/C by looking at the factory schematics. I just want to make sure what kind I need for the main power relay.
I am going to purchase the OBD2 connector from a vendor instead of making one. The issue with the connector is there are two versions an early one and a late one that uses a CAN BUS system. I am not sure which one I need and the local auto parts places are no help.

Thanks, that is what I needed confirmation on. I didn't know where the cutoff was between early and late model. Since mine is a 2002 PCM it should be considered late model.

maybe.. if its obd1 vs obd2 late model, i really dont know (remember, 02 would still be early in the ls developement, the gen 4 stuff didnt come out till 05).. an 04 gto is still a gen3 ls like the 02 pcm, but a CANBUS system (as fas as i know it) is more like the more 'intensive' electical that youd see on say, a bmw, merc, etc..
idk the difference between spdt and spst..
maybe the vendor supplying the obd2 port can shed some light? im sure they have to deal with the differences between pcms
whats this goin into?

LS1 out of a 2004 GTO, using a 2002 F-body PCM tuned by Frost, going into a 1987 Porsche 944 Turbo. Now that's a hybrid.
I am making the engine, fans, fuel pump and A/C stand alone from the cars fuse box. The Porsche relays are expensive, the fan relay is about $130, and not known for reliability.

Just in case anyone else searches for this, SPDT can be used in place of SPST.
