Back in town from the lsx dyno day. Didnt end up putting the truck on the rollers since I figured Id better not risk it being 3 hrs from home even though I gave a bunch of people my buddy knows rides and basically beat the crap out of it for 2 days. Think the guy most impressed was a kid my age that owns a '10 370z so I felt thats pretty impressive. Not sure how fast I managed to get up to since the awesome 100mph speedo but whatever ~6200rpms in 4th 1:1 gear with 3.73 gears and 26" is what I got to twice. Buddy picked up a GoPro so that was some incentive .

My axle shaft seal on the drivers side started leaking friday morning before I left. Noticed the rank gear oil smell then cloud of smoke when slowing down from high speeds so its leaking pretty good. Hopefully its just the seal thats only 6yrs old so Ill replace that and the passenger side one this week.
Grabbed this off my shelf so will try to get going on installing it after feeling the brakes at high speeds and theres just no doubt about it that the pedal takes more force now to slow down.

Uh oh somethings missing! Couldnt see anything majorly wrong with the axle shaft seal but it was still seeping around it so in goes new ones.

Rotors are stuck on the shafts but still managed to pound out the wheel studs so I can put longer ones in. The 1.5" long ones just barely made it through the threads of the stock acorn nuts with the zq8 and drag wheels but looked like they were too short since those lugnuts are so long so Ill put in longer studs and pick up new lug nuts so they will be safe and look better at the track.

Just a FYI friendly note, if you use the ARP longer wheel studs, you have to drill or hone out the hub lug holes, or the slightly wider ARPs can crack it. (ask me how I know) Many may tell you that they did it without opening up the hole and I congratulate them, but having to replace one if it cracks is a pain you don't want to deal with.

I have moser axle shafts and at the time of having them built I chose the 1.5" long studs so I picked up their 2.5" long ones, Both .505" knurled so I should be fine just to press the new ones in correct?

Ran up to the dealer to see if they can get me a replacement sightglass for the hydroboost unit I picked up. It came from a 05 yukon so we checked that and other various trucks from 05-06 and all showed the same diagram where all they can get is a replacement accumulator and a few seals. The diagram doesnt even show the sightglass. So Im going to contact the ebay seller I bought it from a few months ago and see if i can exchange it and if not Im wondering if theres something to use to block where the sight glass was. Maybe something along the lines of these at the hardware store.

Best 60 I got all night was 2.1 I would either launch at 2.5k and it would grab like a **** and bog down or I was launching at 3k+ and just spinning. Needed feather the clutch instead of just dropping it but I wanted to just get a baseline. I try more stuff next time I go there. Spent a lot of time discussing my engine swap since there arent many ls swaps around here yet. Only s10 with one there.
I'm starting to do the math to degree my cam and was looking back at your pics and wondering. You installed the Comp phaser limiter for the L92 phaser. Did you verify with the vane spacing (.935") that you had a L92 phaser for the 156- GM cam cores? AFAIK, the TSP VVT2 cam is a 189- cam core for the newer (L99/LS4) phasers unless you ordered yours ground on a 156- core? Did you special order the VVT2 cam from TSP on the older core?

If not, your cam is 13 degrees retarded from specs and would account for the low-end bog..

(I'm trying to use my older L92 phaser that I sacreficed by taking it all apart, to degree and check PV clearance on my L99 VVT2 cam. So there's a little math involve to rotate it back to about where it would be with the new L99 phaser that I'll use to actually run the motor)

Hmm I didnt know this. When I ordered they hadnt built actual ly6 cams like they do now so I told them my engine was the 6.0 ly6 and what my intentions were so they recommended the vvt-2. As far as phasers comp makes 2 different limiters depending on what years they are. TSP asked me for the p/n on my phaser and sent me the correct limiter for it. They never mentioned anything about actual cam core differences.

Grabbed these while I was at summit getting the plumbing supplies. Had my eyes on them since they came out.

Pressure lines are plumbed. I have to grab a brass tee to hook up the return then finish up some small stuff and its done. Tons more room now, Its so much cleaner looking!

I've been considering those valve covers too. They look sharp. What are your plans for the coil wiring?

For now I just laid the harness out and let it fall where it wanted then tucked it in down by the injectors. Actually turned out alright.

All done havent driven it yet since Ive been working 12s 7 days a week and cant be picky when I get a chance to sleep.

Small update one of the dmh cutouts quit working. I plugged in the harness going to the other one to make sure it wasnt the wiring and it still doesnt work and i had it unbolted to make sure its not just warped like the other one was when i first installed it by not tightening it symetrically even and it wouldnt open so i have to call dmh and send it in. Good thing i still have the manual plates to put back on.

FYI. Get a linelock now that you have hydroboost. After we installed linelock on the 01 blazer I could hardly do a burnout. The higher the rpms the more the brakes wanted to clamp (4 wheel disc brakes)

Had my wife video the rear and you could see the calipers starting to glow. Just a heads up. You can hear it bog the motor down in this video.
