The stock flywheel and you'll need the gm pt#12621399. You'll need to elongate the flywheel bolt holes.

I'd still like to know if a flywheel is being made for this conversion. I hate drilling holes bigger and throwing the balance off.

if you use a flexplate from an 03 chevy express van 2500 w/a 4L80E you don't have to enlongate the holes. You will need the spacer though as this flexplate is flat. PN/12561399 flexplate, PN/12563532 spacer, PN 14088764 on the bolts X 6. Bolts are longer. use all of this and the TH40 will bolt right up with no mods.

I picked up the flexplate from Autozone for the 02 Camaro for $24.00, and will get the spacer tomorrow from GM. I just hope the counterweight on the plate goes TOWARDS the engine cause the torque conv hits it.

Good info. Interesting that the express van would use a different torque converter bolt circle than the trucks. Have to wonder what GM was thinking on that one.

Autozone gave you the wrong flexplate. They have given you a 14088761 which is for an 86 up small block. Go to their site, look up that part and you can see the gm p/n in the picture of it. The correct one should not have a counter weight.

GM #12621399 is the PERFECT match for the flywheel (flexplate actually). Comes WITH the spacer and new bolts in place! My cost was $61.31 including tax from the dealer. The TCI converter matches perfectly too! Just picked it up this morning. Will be bolting on the 400 in about 10 minutes. I'll keep the site updated.
