Got all the lil bugs worked out this past week.

Only 3 things I can think of till its done:

1. Alignment
2. Fix a few leaks
3. Get it tuned.

Been messing with a couple things this past week and decided to take it around the block today. Around the 4:30 mark I was rolling into the throttle and clicked 2nd gear and it went from -4lbs of vacuum to 12lbs of boost FAST and I backed out of it. It felt pretty good but I dont want to be picking pieces of the bottom end up off the curb either.

I don't really have a big update but I ordered HP Tuners awhile back and it finally showed up.

During the wait for it to show up I started looking around at other engine management systems and followed up on the Holley EFI setups.

Long story short, HP Tuners is on its way back and Ill be ordering Holley's EFI Dominator setup as soon as I get back from my next hitch.

Between all I/O capabilities, auto tune feature, boost controller, data logging, etc. It was a no brainer.

That being said, anybody know some one looking for a good kidney?

Updates?

The Holley Dominator is really by far the cheapest option out there when compared to the other big 3. Just sucks because it sounds like you already did all the wiring work to get the car running a different way.

I agree.

If they would have finished the boost controller before they released it and had the coil issue fixed a lot sooner I would of already went with this setup.
It does suck some to have to strip everything out and start over but its too late to stop now.

Well maybe you can sell your old harness and recoup some of your cost. I would be interested if the Holley HP weren't so damn "cheap" and simple to use.

Ive heard that Bobby over at clear lake speed is pretty good at tuning these motors. From what I understand Jake is no longer tuning and is sending all his work to Bobby now. He may be an option for ya.

I dunno about using bobby, Ive heard a few things about the way he tunes that I dont agree with.

Plus I bought the dominator for the sole reason to learn how to do it my self.

Really all the people Ive heard from say hes pretty good. Hell there aint no telling. I was into all that tuning stuff when I had the tweecer for the fox pcm but ended up racking up countless hours messing with it. Its awesome after you learn what affects what.

Been a LONG time since Ive updated this.
Between work, general life, moving, and my dad passing away it has taken me a while to get **** done to the car.

At first I kept finding more and more wiring issues that I wasn't happy/comfortable with so I stripped the car of everything and fixed everything I could find.

I ended up making my own fuse and relay panel, rewired everything and cleaned it all up.

While I had everything out I wanted to make everything as simple as possible. Instead of using the Florida 5.0 cluster and running a set of sensors for it and another set for the Holley I decided to sale the Florida 5.0 cluster and pickup a Racepak Iq3. I can share everything from the Holley to the Rackpak via 1 cable, STUPID SIMPLE.

Reinstalled the interior and took it out for a test drive.

That pretty much sums everything up so far, hope to get a few things ironed out next time Im home and get this thing tuned and on the street/track.
