97 Jaguar XK8, LS3 6L80E
Wanted to post some pictures for a friends shop. They are finishing up a pretty cool swap.
1997 Jaguar XK8, Crate LS3, 6L80E.... oh yeah, and a Magnusson TVS 2300.

yeah, none of us are big fans of the scoop, but the customer who is paying for it had it made the way he wanted.
Hopefully, if enough people tell him it looks horrible, he'll let the body guys remake it and blend it in to the hood a little better.
It has to have something to clear the blower, no scoop is not an option.

Another LS XK8.......
Interesting pics of the LS3 XK8 there with supercharger.
We're building a 98 XK8 convert here with LS1 power, and everything fits under the hood, so the car appears stock from the outside. It's be a real sleeper until you mash the loud pedal. Here are some shots of the car and the install at about 90% complete.
This will become a kit and related parts available to customers who want to do a similar LS-based conversion on their XK8/XKR. We already have a kit like this available for the 98-03 XJ8/XJR models....
Thanks
Andrew

Wow, very cool setup. The hood scoop with the wire wheels make me want to gouge my eyes out, but everything under the hood looks great!
I came across a video on youtube where the title said it was a 414ci LSx Jaguar XK8 vs. a Supra... it was a straight line road race shot from a roll shot inside the car. I didn't realize there was more than one or two LSx XK8s floating around!

I am the owner of this beast. It is awsome. While I understand some of your less than excited look of the scoop - it is modeled after the current Z-06 style and I agree that it is higher than one that would look better BUT - it was imposible to clear the blower without the somewhat ugly "peak." It is fully functional with the front inlet and cowl exit. I am a man of modest means and could not afford $100 per hour to "experiment" too much. It looks way better in person and with the velvet paint, I'm starting to get used to it. If I tried to follow the hood line, the cowl end would block half the windshield.
Now I'm learning to drive the manual aspect of the shift setup smoothly - I can almost make it sound like a true manual. The auto mode is perfect as is. There are no modifications to the interior of the car including the shifter and console. Rather than mess with the steering wheel, I now can manually shift using the reprogrammed "sport" mode switch on the console. The drivetrain except the differential are all 2011 LS3, 6-spd, custom radiator, driveshaft, headers, exhaust, etc. Everything except the original stability control works exactly as before.
The original 3:06 rear with the super low 1st gear is fine and I'm only turning 1700 RPM at 75.
No problems with the 100 extra lbs of the conversion.
The wire wheels are classic Daytons so give me a break - they look great. They are also interim ($$$$ has run out).
Regards,
Bob

other option
We thought of that but the blower sticks up much higher in the Jag. Plus in (sunny) Florida there's always the rain problem - this is a daily driver. By the way, the scoop is bolt-on so I could opt for the naked blower look. I am looking for another hood to play with.

Nice swap.. The hood and wheels is creating a distraction from all the of the nice work and the beauty of the swap. You could always drive around without a hood.
