If you've never had the "pleasure" of fueling up a 2-stroke outboard, you'd never understand...

Yella Terra Ultralight rockers and titanium retainers.

Fuel mileage is just a hard one with any jet boat because they consume so much HP to go fast (vs an I/O or weedwhacker) - but the best I can say is this: Under full throttle, you gotta feed ponies no matter what package they are in - under part throttle...I get a lot better mileage than a big block jet, and probably about on par with a big block I/O.

Cost is hard to say, too because it depends on how much motor you want. But, the conversion parts are about $1500-2000.

BOAT = BREAK OUT ANOTHER THOUSAND

A big block jet boat isn't much better - but at least the speedometer and fuel gauge don't meet in the middle and hold each other up...

Depends on what size impeller you are spinning. If its an A or AA and you are under 45mph all the tests I have seen show better fuel economy with a jet than an I/O given the drives are in the same hull with the same motor in front of them. So with a LS in a liberator you probably get much better part throttle economy than a 5.7L I/O production boat. Of course the trick is keeping it at part throttle LOL.

I've got a stainless "B" - I'm at about 3-3.5k all the time to stay on plane, but run right around 4.5k for a spirited cruise.

Hopefully soon. Boat is currently down for a pump rebuild that I couldn't put off any longer. The boating season in Ohio seems to be drawing to a close damn quickly - so the next vid I post may have parkas involved...
