I ordered the custom spec'd EPS cam for my engine with pushrods, and
spring package (PAC Dual Springs, Lightweight Steel Retainers, Spring
Locators, and Valvestem Seals)

I ran it through the calculators and its about 8.35 DCR on the LY6

Intake : 222 degrees @ .050" lift with .597 lift (1.7 rocker)
Exhaust: 234 degrees @ .050" lift with .612 lift (1.7 rocker)

The cam will be ground on a 111 LSA with 4 degrees of advance ground in
(107 ICL).

Lets see how this works once the car is together and I get it to the track.

The is VVT removed.

The test was ran with a 950 carb, I am using a 770 so will make less power but will replace the carb if needed to meet my goals. I estimated about 525 based on past experience so should be about 400RWHP I hope maybe more if things work perfectly.

I used the numbers to create a graph of the HP and Tq curves produced from engine analyzer Pro demo.

This is such an awesome deal! https://ls1tech.com/forums/sponsor-s...rformance.html

Won't have any tranz worries! Should stand up to anything I through at it! Also less loss than I thought https://ls1tech.com/forums/automatic...ower-loss.html

Not alot of progress but the nice weather I have been able to get out into the garage.

This is the 4l80e from Jakes Transmission. I also have a billet 3500-3600 stall he built for the car.

I installed the Dirty Dingo Double D's and the original short and wide rubber motor mounts (1 3/4 x 2 5/8).

Then I dropped the motor in (Car is going to the body shop soon).

Finally achieve my goal to see if I need a cowl hood or not and for anyone else wondering about the l93 Victor JR in a 68-72 Nova.....

A Picture is worth 1000 word... other than the ooo #@$@# 4" cowl that came outa my mount with my 4 year old daughter standing next to me... She nicely let me know. Daddy that was a BAD word! Don't say it again LOL

I am a little dissapointed that the paint bubbled on the valley cover of the engine... Going to have to fix that grrrr. Rest of the engine still looks good.

Hoping to make more progress this year... Been in holding pattern on the project. The Body guy the car was at would not do anything and would not meet with me either... Finally had to threaten cops to get my car back as he was trying to keep it. I was out a bunch of $$ too as the guy did not do anything he promised. The car is now at a different place for to have his mess fixed and I hope the work is done for spring so I can get to putting the car back together. I have a 4" cowl hood for the car and also got my front disc brake setup. I hope 2014 is the year to hear this 68 rumble.

I know my carb is on the small side... got me thinking the terminator EFI might be the way to go.... but not liking the 2k price tag... Time will tell I am sure the Holley 770 will be used or a bit anyways.

I found an old picture of my dads car with 2 his brothers. It is a 1968 Beaumount in Alpine Blue. My car is going to be grotto blue and it turns out it is the same colour as alpine blue based on the paint codes I looked up.

nice ride!!! We are throwing a carbed 408 lsx in a 68 nova! What kind of modifications did you have to do to the th400 crossmember to make the 80e work?

Have not got there yet.. other than a rough mauched up. Mount psition will need to move back some and possibly lower for the tranz mount. I think it will work just going to take so changes.

I will know more once I get the car back from the body shop... they are holding up progression of my build...

nuckifuts, I see it's been a loooong while, but to answer your question: I used a RaptorX crossmember. It took a good deal of fab to make work, including lengthening the trans mount, hogging out the holes for the chassis mounts where they bolt to the crossmember itself, and welding in 3.5" ID square tubing for exhaust clearance. Not recommended, unless they changed their design drastically.

Quick Reply: Carb'd LY6/4l80e into a 1968 Nova.
