CBR's 64 Nova Wagon

We removed the 300hp crate engine and fuel system for the obvious....LS engine. The engine is from an 05' truck that is the L-33 coded engine (aluminum block).
-4L60E transmission
-PSI Harness 732-691-6531
-Spare ECM computer 330-473-0426
-Ricks Hot Rods fuel tank 915-760-4388
-Entropy Radiator 773-669-6573
These are the main components needed the rest can be made up from your local parts store.
Finding a place to enter the harness through the firewall was a challenge so I decided to use the stock location for the speedometer cable. The hole needed to be opened up to 2". The harness comes with a really nice grommet that makes it look factory original.

Here is my son helping pull the connectors through the hole. The entire harness started out inside the car and I fed all the little connections one by one out the fire wall.

Next while I had my trusty assistant we lowered the engine and transmission into its resting place and bolted it up with stock motor mounts connected to our LS header swap plates and then our 4L60E transmission cross member.

With the radiator installed You will notice the comparison to the radiator core support....not very high with plenty of clearance below as well. The entire core support opening is covered with radiator cores.

With the lines routed I then installed the Oil pressure sensor for my gauge.

And finally clearance to the header...

The instructions for this pump set up suggests that if you want to use a -6 connector you must remove the pump pulley, machine the back side of the pulley as the adapter fitting would make contact. Instead I figured it would be easier and neater to use part of the Cadillac power steering hose.

Now for the headers We used our CBR LS nova conversion headers built by Stainless Works. They fit great and assemble without a fuss. Before I installed them I welded on some V-band clamps.

O2 sensors

Here are some photos showing the various clearance issues associated with headers....not with the CBR/SW, everything fits as it should with room to spare.

This photo shows the dipstick installed.

Next came the 3" exhaust. After some driving I think I will re-think the tail pipes....too tight and tend to make some rattling noises.

A recent trip to the Nova Nationals in Kentucky netted 21mpg averaging 75mph. Not bad on the initial tune
