When is automotion? That sounds like fun its def a possibility. Yeah 5lbs gets boring so i better get a 1/8th mile head start I'm going to do a pressure test tonight to see if the IC is leaking. I don't think the wastegate is even opening cause i had the boost controller turned all the way up and it didn't do anything. I'll try removing the vac line to the gate later and see what happens.

Well it was leaking tons of pressure from the egr block off and a few other pin holes from welds so we made a thicker one out of 16guage and patched the welds. Drove it and made 18lbs of boost on second gear instantly after easing into it so i let off. It bent that 16guage and causes a huge vacuum leak so we gotta try it again after we make a new block off. These street tires really need to go now that I'm making boost lol

About time, at least it held together at 18#'s. did it come on way sooner now?

Yeah it makes boost pretty damn quick I'm surprised it got up to 18lbs almost instantly and she held together lol. I'll definitely have a new video once i get the egr port blocked off again and gotta fix a few more leaks. Stay tuned

Nice job on figuring it out. I ordered my bov yesterday, but I don't think it's a big 50mm. It just says Emusa type RS I think. They weren't very detailed in the description, and I was being rushed. You think it'll still work? If not, I'll just sell it.

Yes the 50mm emusa bov's are nice. if i end up selling my rear mount and doing a front mount that's what I'm going to use. I remember reading a thread on here about the difference between the emusa 50mm andthe tial and from what i recall sarg said they identical. Maybe he will chime in

I'm using a turbonetics duo35 bov. Its like $140 from jegs but if i did it all over again i would get the emusa 50mm bov. Its only like $60 and from what i read its nice. Looks exactly like the tial one

well it was making a pretty bad hissing sound so i took the heads off and it was a blown head gasket. also heard a clunk sound so i shut it off asap and didnt want to run it more to find out. got the oil pan off and found some little metal chunks in the bottom? idk but the timing chain seems a little loose so we have to take the timing cover off could have possible broke a timing tooth. anyway, the motor and tranny is all out and i painted the engine bay and cleaned up all the spaghetti wiring i had lol. heres some pics

im selling the 5.3, 862 heads, turbo, bov, hotside/cold pipe, intercooler, and some other miscelaneous parts. im picking up a 6.0 this week and doing a twin front mount setup. also going through the trans with a full manual valve body, trans brake, and a good converter. after winter i am shooting for 650-700 horse to the wheels with the 6.0 setup and plan on running 9's. as for this thread, the title doesnt really fit my truck anymore so once i get my 6.0 and start tearing it apart i will be starting a new thread in the forced inductions part. i will post the link up on this build so all my followers can see the new progress.

damn man! sorry to hear that. im sure you will be able to draw upon your experience from this build and apply it to the new one to make it even better. best of luck with the new motor/turbo setup. i'll be subscribing to that thread as well.

-cheers

yeah its all for the better though lol. plus, your thread inspired me to do twins and i want a quick spooling truck for the street. and since the motor is out, it only makes sense to put in something bigger and try something other than a single turbo. and now i can go through the whole truck again and fix things i wanted to fix and make things better that didnt work out and cleaning things up a bit. my only biggest draw back right now is fitting the intercooler up front for the twins. i want to stick to air to air. i think if i were staying to single i would try air to water like you.
