Did you ever consider using a stronger transmission for your swap such as a Porsche unit? If so, was their any reason aside from cost that you didn't go that route?

if you are into DeLoreans in the cincy area im sure you know my buddy TJ Pugh - he has a clean turbo DMC up near Lebanon. Nice to see more projects in cincy- im swapping one into an old mustang currently. My bud has an LS1 stroker in a 944 turbo body....fun stuff.

just saw this car yesterday on the show Car Fix. They were doing a cam swap in it. Nice to see it get attention on the tv shows.

Not sure how I missed this in the past but I just spent half the day reading your thread and blogspot. I think you managed to win the internet. I always thought a Chevy V8 would be perfect in the back of a DeLorean. Sadly this swap would never pass the BAR here in CA due to donor car cats being required in their original positions. The exhaust system would need to be 3' past the bumper. This would be a non-issue here by now if they hadn't repealed the original late 90's 30 year rolling exemption. This is why we can't have nice things. Also, for all the flux-capacitor comments you're likely getting, thinkgeek.com has a mini flux-capacitor USB charging hub that plugs into a lighter socket. http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/1dbd/?srp=1
