LT1 to LM7 swap
So Ill be buying a 5.3 tomorow
It will be going in a 1995 z28. I know the swap uses pretty much ls1 f body accessories. All i want to know is can you use the lt1 body harness? If not, I have a ls1 firebird dash and cluster. Also, what is the maximum amount of power one can make with a stock short block and a cam, and also with flat top pistons and a cam? Dyno sheets and first hand experience helps too? I couldnt find many lm7 swaps with dyno sheets or anything like that. Also if anyone has any cam suggestions that would be cool too.

you need the LS1 f-body engine harness and pcm 99 or newer is best. you can use your cluster and body harness when tuning you just have to adjust a value i forget which to get the stock tack to read right. there are plenty of write ups on doing the rewire your self or just send it to speartech and have them do it last time i checked it was like 550 to have them convert the ls1 harness to plug into the LT1 body harness

I know the biggest cam isnt always the best. I just want to be that fastest i can cam only. Theres videos of 5.3s with the ms3 and trex cams on youtube running the quarter i just couldnt see the times. Its a street car but will run autocross and the strip from time to time. My dad has the trex in his ls1 in an auto and its perfectly streetable.

Well ill call my local tuner to suggest me a cam. But ill be looking for a ls6 manifold and a good tb if i need it, 99-02 pcm and harness, and a full body harness, a ls1 t56 bellhousing and input shaft. Then ill use my 01 firebird dash and gauge cluster. I also have an ls1 k member. I might look into getting some flat top pistons.
Is that bump in compression worth it?
Ill also buy some pacesetter longtubes.
Im installing a 4.10 gear and will have a full tune, adj lcas, adj panhard bar, and lca relocation brackets because the cars lowered 2 inches.
With the basic bolt ons and cam im wanting to make around or over 400rwhp and run high 11s. Is that plausible?
