Default Camaro Front Accessories parts list (99-02)

For those wanting/needing to use Camaro Style front accessories because of hood clearance issues, or to make room for some turbos, etc. I have put together a list of part numbers, etc. Will maybe even through a few picts in to show what the part looks like next to the number, so that it is easier to figure out, if you are not used to doing this type of stuff...

Alternator:
rear bracket PN 12556915 (verified)
front bracket PN 12563327 (verified)
alternator bolts (need 2) PN 11516366
alternator bolt (need 1) PN 11516360
alternator PN

small is for the rear, bigger is the front (obviously...lol), the idler pulley goes in the top left hole of the bigger bracket in the pic

the alternator all cleaned up and painted

Idler:
Belt Idler Pulley (1) PN 12564401
bolt (if it doesn't come with it and i think it needs a spacer or something?) PN 11516356

cleaned and painted

Balancer:
Balancer PN 12553118
Washer PN 12600525
Bolt PN 12557840

ARP balancer bolt and washer 234-2503 Summit Racing

also, i havent seen a thread like this, and had to do a ton of research and looking stuff up, to get the list, I have seen one for corvette, but for those, like me who dont like that style and need the room up top, i made this thread

if you are using an iron truck block, you will need to drill and tap the hole for the front alternator bracket and alternator to bolt onto the block (the aluminum block should have this already)...

I used the following, which came with the right bit and tap (for stock bolts)...

the top hole is the one that was done

and the alt mocked up before cleaning and painting it

the rear bracket hole is already there and works perfect, with the alt

There are many ways to do it...

but some have either used the bmr relocation brackets
http://www.bmrsuspension.com/?page=p...d=56&catid=149
with an electric water pump and that can be expensive...

then some have just taken it off and ran a shorter belt, etc.

I just went through this with my setup. Similar to the short belt method but with an extra pulley down low for added alternator and crank belt wrap.

If it's not too much trouble, can you post some pics on the P/S mounting setup? I'm having difficulty figuring out how and where the front brace (12555693) goes on. Thanks.

give me a sec, to try and get a pic, had to take the pump off, which I left behind the main bracket...

this front brace, goes in between the pulley and pump...

number 14 in the diagram... hard to get a pict with everything together...

How many idler pullies? And, are they all the same pulley?
My motor is a 6.0, and I've had to buy all my front accessories a part at a time.
Never got to see them all together, except for in a picture.
Thanks,
Rob

1 idler pulley and a tensioner pulley, the tensioner is the one on the water pump, the idler is the one on the alternator brackets

Thanks again for your help! (I was afraid I was going to have to pull the P/S pulley.) Strange thing is, I bought the pump used and the pulley is on, but the bracket isn't there...

I wish. I meant to say the brace isn't on it. Looks like I'll be pulling the pulley. Unless I just leave it off. Hmm...
