1981 Second Gen Camaro Berlinetta BUDGET build (Updated FiTech injection/Boost!)
#124
Ok I got an update for the project...I used some ridiculously expensive OER interior paint ($20 a can) but the results were worth the cash and cheaper than new panels...
Also today I threw in the ACC carpet which was great quality and trimmed my floor shifter

I just scored a proform 67199 650cfm billet aluminum 4150 double pumper...my cousin had it laying around and said I could try it in place of my old rebuilt Holley 750cfm vacuum 4160 carb so I'm interested to see the difference bc I think the 750 stock was jetted so high that my secondaries weren't even opening...

Well I went to install the new 4150 proform carb and of course my $60 AN fuel line was too short bc it was for the old 4160 so I had to make a new fuel feed line...but the carb did run like a champ and the linkage allows me to tip into the throttle MUCH easier! Check this carb out! The entire carb weighs less than the mainbody of my old Holley...

Look on the bright side, swapping rear axles in the second gen is a lot easier than the fourth gen. No torque arm to worry about. Ought to be able to hit the boneyards and find an axle you can swap in.

Yes I feel your pain! I run to pull a part all the time to make the budget go longer. Get most posi units, and rears from trucks. Got a driveshaft with the 4l80e yoke the right length, and a 3bar MAP with plug for $27. Also got my 4L80e from there for $109, but paid $785 for convertor.
