Default Ls3-tci 6x e39 528 (pic heavy!!)

Thought I'd start a build thread on here as this site has been really helpful for general info so far.

So I started with this

New hart

First test fit

Made mounts and this is where it will sit

Had to massage the trans tunnel

Towed the car to my shop

And about 16 hours of work...

And that's how she sits! Pulling the mounts and headers off to make a jig so I can reproduce them, then having everything coated.

Any questions or comments are welcome!

Headers are ceramic coated and should withstand 2k degrees

Took the mounts out to be powdercoated.

It's 2000. The only integrating I need to do is the tach and water temp, and that's pretty simple.

The GMPP harness I got has it's own OBD port.

How's the steering rack clearance. Reading that BMW went w/ reciprocating ball steering for the V8's due to space put me off... but now I'm thinking it's just their DOHC v8's were just too wide and a LSx would have room for R&P steering.

The DOHC i6 that came out was bigger than the LS. I've got about 3/8" between the pan and the rack. And 1/2-3/4" around the steering shaft.
There's plenty of space in there, the R&P is why I chose the 6 cylinder chassis.
