Chevelle 4.8 Turbo
#224
After driving the Chevelle for a couple days with the new belt routing I started getting a little squeek when snapping the throttle. I found that the belt had stretched a little. I guess it was just too long, too late though can't return it now. My solution was to add an idler pulley to take up some slack, and it was free! I cut a longer bolt to the lenth I needed and tapped new threads to it and mounted the idler with a tubular space like I did for the idler relocation on the driver side. I used the bottom tensioner bracket mounting hole. works great.

Today I installed the turbos, made the right downpipe and got the top half of the oil feed lines put together. I also made the left downpipe but didn't get it installed. Tomorrow I will instal the left downpipe, finish the oil feed lines and install the return lines. I will post more pics tomorrow.

Hood closes just fine. Now the problem is the steering shaft hits the manifold and is binding, I doesn't when its on the lift.

I don't think I can dimple cast iron. I was thinking about getting a Borgenson (spelling?) u-joint. that may fix the issue. I will snap some pics in the morning and post so you can see.

I teed off the oil pan adapter and ran a hard line up to a T fitting to 2 braided lines. All 3/16" hard line and 1/8" NPT braided to -4AN at the turbos. returns are -10AN. got the kits off Ebay cheap.
