Another 6.0 Fox Body
so im starting my first ls1 based engine swap in a week or so, i dont really have any experiance with these engines so any input would be greatly appreciated thanks, and i have already got myself a 2001 6.0 lq4 bone stock, 317 heads, i traded my dad my beloved LT1 for this motor, the LT1 came out of my 240sx swap i did but spun a bearing, he thought the lq4 was blown up due to no compression on the no. 8 cyl, found out a rocker arm bearing fell apart, little roller bearings are all inside the engine though FML so ill have to tear it down. bought a complete harness and ecu for $250 and a 4l80e from the same guy that i got the harness from, im trading him my 1995 4l60e from my camaro for it. anyways this swap is going in my daily driver 1993 mustang i picked up at an auction about a year ago non running bad clutch 87k mile 4 cyl car for $400 turned out all it needed was the alarm system to be deactivated and the clutch to be changed. funny thing is that it came with a brand new clutch in the trunk that no one seen. did a lil work and have been driving it since then. my buddy has a 99 camaro z28 with a 150 shot, lid, headers, and an efi live tune. one ride in that car and i was hooked! im going lq4 in ugly betty (my mustang). so now everyone knows where im at with everything. sorry for the long post. lol

Heres a pic of ugly betty
and another...
Heres the 6.0 LQ4
Heres the harness
Just a couple pics of the LT1 swapped 240sx that never made it on the forums, my computor broke before i started
i painted it sublime green found on the newer dodge chargers
and that isnt that vht tail shade crap on the tail lights, thats a mixture of clear with black.
Here was the happy lil LT1/700r4 combo, i blew the motor and tranny in one spectacular 4th gear burnout. yes FOURTH GEAR burnout
Now theres a 4.3 V8 out of an ex cop car in it. ITS UP FOR SALE TOO!!!!

It looks like you have a lot of rust free chassis sitting around there, it must be nice! You'll have a quick '93 Fox Body when you're done! Bob

hey everyone sorry i was too tired to post pics lastnight soo here we go!
back of the block 6.0l
a pic of the head casting number
someone didnt like to clean their oil, luckly they didnt drive it long enough to make the internals all nasty
destroyed rocker arm... caused by a bent valve
see the valve stuck open? thats a bolt stuck between the valve and seat, also caused a bent pushrod
heres where the piston got scored from when the valve got stuck open from a damn little bolt someone dropped in the engine. also note the flat pistons = LQ9
heres another veiw of the piston score
thats the bent valve with the bolt that someone dropped in the intake, just a reminder BE CAREFUL NOT TO DROP ANYTHING IN THE ENGINE WHILE YOUR SWAPPING!!!!!!!

Here the other night me and some friends went out racing, thats my stock 2.3L mustang (left lane) vs. a friends integra LS (ya know) this video shows with a lil clutch slip @ 5,500 rpm will launch pretty decent off the line pulling a couple car lengths by the 300ft but we found out this car runs out of steam past 2nd gear lol. but what do ya expect with only 90 hp haha
this car will be nasty with the LQ9 and a lil somethin im going to throw at it.

im pretty much building everything myself, solid mounts, modifying the stock cross member. building my own trans cross member for a 4l80e. i will be using stock truck manifolds for future turbo use, building my own exhaust, i do fab work and i am also a mechanic for a living so building my own stuff is no biggie. if you noticed the green 240sx above i built it from front to back, top to bottom, paint and body work. i built it in 3 months at my dads auto body shop.

ive got a few pix of the engine bay, ive decided to smooth the bay and tuck the wires as much as possible.
I decided to use a cts-v engine cover to simplify the wire tuck and it also looks good
I liked this picture so i thought id share it
somewhat of a close up of the strut tower
i wrapped the manifolds to keep temps down
passanger side
driver side
tight squeeze but it fits, the engine cover needs a light trim but it will fit perfectly
