Default 5.3 truck & 5.7 A/C compressor mounting questions

I have a 5.3L engine & I switched the truck accessories out for the f-body accessories on front on the engine. I have the truck compressor but it will stick out too far with truck A/C bracket. What I need to know is are both compressors the same on a 5.3/5.7? Can I use a f body compressor mounting bracket & the truck compressor or will I have to get the compressor from the f-body also?

I know the f body compressors are variable displacement. I'm not entirely sure which truck compressors are variable and which are fixed. What AC system are you using it with?

You will have to use an fbody bracket, compressor and lines since your other accessories are fbody. Then adapt the new lines to your old ones.

I am pretty sure there are different compressors mounting lugs and points on Trucks vs. F-body.. I once picked up a Compressor for my F-Body accessories.. and it would not bolt up to the F-Body Bracket.

They are different and do not interchange.

BTW, I have an F-body compressor, bracket assembly (tensioner + pullies), mounting hardware, and Doc's Blocks connection interface that I am about to take off my car. PM me if interested.

I'm working through a similar issue. I have an LS6 going in a truck. I can't use the vette compressor/bracket and have to use a truck comp/bracket. Totally different mounting set ups. What year is your truck compressor? I'm looking for an '02 because it has a high pressure switch built in the compressor and the 04' vette compressor I have doesn't have the switch built in. Let me know if you are interested in a swap.

Thread I posted related to my issue:
