Default Show off your pics of Doug's headers on a GM A-body!

Since my JBA camaro shorties hit the steering column, I'm now looking at other exhaust options. Saw another poster (66 GTO) that had installed dougs headers w/great ground clearance (my primary concern w/long tubes), but he had to dimple one tube that hit the steering column. Wondered if we could get other pictures for those that have installed them? Another poster asserted Dougs give the best fit. Especially interested in anybody w/68-72 that used BRP mounts (which I did). Let me see your pics!

Hera are a few, 69 GTO. I was pleased with the fit and finish. Very tight to the floor pan partly due to the angle and placement of the engine. I did have to modify the trans crossmember for much the same reason.

WOW... That is very nice. I am still deciding on exhaust to use. I found stainless F-body headers on Ebay for less than $200. I think I'm going to go with those. I won't feel bad cutting them up when it's time for the turbos.

I'd love to get feedback/pics on the Hedman Husler mid-length; can't seem to find anyone that's posted going that route. Also looking @ Hooker's new cast manifold, but apparently that is not going to be out for a bit. But my timeline may still support since I'm so slow.

i started a post few months ago about these. i did alot of homework and contacted their tech to find out why they list Monte separate from A-bodies. basically all the same exact headers, just differant part numbers for internal references. wierd, but thats what they said. im on fence about orderin them- i have my car bagged, so i have limited ground clearance

By chance do you have a pic of the header exit and your tranny crossmbr? I want to have a set of hi flow cats after the header but wonder if there is room, especially if I'm having to build in some turns to hook up to the exhaust. I won't be doing any modifications to the tranny crossmbr, so whatever system I choose must be able to do it all...

I will try to get you a photo under the car as it sits now. I used a Magnaflow 2.5" system on the car tucked as tight as I could get it. The trans cross member mods were pretty minimal, hopefully the pictures will show you what you need.

I tried Dougs headers and adapters and they would not fit my 66 Chevelle at all. But, it seems like every car is different because I know people have used them with good results. Just buy them from Jegs or Summit, wrap them good and be careful during mock up. No scratches...return them!

Here are a few pics from under the car. This also shows the cross member modification. Not really a big project, just a section and drop of the center.

Well that sux if they do not fit. I can buy em and return them if they dont fit, but i dont want to do a trial and error method. Im gona try some fbody manifolds and fbody headers like kooks or flow tech as a few people here said i could borrow them to see if they fit.

Can you rephrase this post? 2 - 580 or 580 each?

Which mounts did you use? I have BRP, which sit up higher, so I'm worried about them hitting the floor. Anybody have these w/BRP mounts?
