Bringing this thread back finally started on my car today for the t56 swap. Got the th400 out floor cut and the t56 mocked into place. Of course i opened up a lil can of worms with my floor pan, I knew i had a hole to patch but didn't know i was going to have 5 to patch. Previous owner made swiss cheese on driver side then took a new complete floor pan some white painters caulk and some rivets layed her down and called it good.

Deciding on the accessory drive will dictate what way you can go with alot of things.....using the hooker mounts (stock location)the trk AC brkt is out of the question.
Personally, I would look into an overdrive tranny. It REALLY makes the car more enjoyable on road trips....If that's what your going to do with it.....You won't be sorry if you did......Good luck, It's addictive, I know, Im starting on my 2nd switch over in my 66 post chevelle.....

Research alot. Stick with one company like hooker for the mounts headers etc. So it all work together. If i was to do it again I would have prolly moved the the motor a few inches. Just cuz my head is close to firewall and my coil covers wont clear.

Got some progress made this weekend finally got the floors all welded in and done. Then we moved on to the cross member, we cut the tab off flipped it over and welded it back up. I also decided to make it 3 piece to make it easier to get in and out. Then we got to the tunnel i cut it rest of the way out and make a template with millnella folders then transfered it to steel. Its all tacked in now just got to weld it up solid and grind smooth.

Master cylinder bracket i had to buy and it was $$$$$$. I got it from american powertain. I was in a jam to get to OC and had no other idea how to mount it. I first started with this bracket below but it doesn't work with power brake cars cuz doesn't clear the booster

Motor and trans is back out of the car for HP upgrades. Installing TFS/TEA 220 heads custom grind cam by Brian Tooley. Also changing out oil pump, timing chain, lifters and trays and all gaskets and hardware. Trans is being sent to RKT56 in Fredrick Md for His upgrade kit as i was having a few problems with it. Overall i put around 5k miles on it this year made a couple passes at the track and did quite a bit racing on the street and she didnt miss a beat.
