im not pushing this motor any harder. i was hoping to run 8s on it but with these 862 heads and my elevation i just dont think its going to happen. i got a line on some 245 AFR heads for my 408. im pretty sure i can make some serious power with that combo haha

dropped my block and rotating assembly off at the machine shop this morning. they said a week. i got a pair of 317s with only 28k miles on them from a buddy. going to run them until i can afford some baller heads. im literally a set of head studs, a cam, and head gaskets ($800)from having this new 408 in the car. with my 92mm wheel it should spool INSTANTLY. i dont foresee any backpressure problems until 20+ psi. thats still pushing 1000whp so we shall see.

took the heads to the machine shop to get the dual spring kit installed and they ended up giving it a valve job as it wasnt sealing well. i present to you my almost complete longblock.

im ordering my cam next week. trying to talk my nephew into trading me his S480 96mm turbine 1.32 housing for my S480 92mm 1.10 housing so i dont visit backpressure central at higher boost.

Did you not have any issues with the tire hitting the top of the inner fender well with 1 spring cut? Mine does not touch, but it does not take much weight on it for it to do so. I am a little concerned that when I get good weight transfer it will scrub badly.
