I had to shim the Rails to where I wanted them, those Spacers didn't go all the way into the port of the Vic like they would a stock GM Intake. Washer was like 1/32", splittin hairs kinda thing.

 

Is there a reason you cant just shorten the rail dold downs and use the short injectors as is?

 

No, Rails wouldve hit the Intake Runners.

Those are the short Rail Brackets Edelbrock makes.

 

Actually, I wish I would have thought about spacers when I did my Olds build. I've got a spare LS1 rail and could have made that work with $30 spacers rather than a $100 aftermarket rail. The aftermarket ones do look purdy..... but I would rather spend $70 on something else.

 

Why would you want to use truck injectors? I put stock LS1 injectors on a truck intake with stock truck rails, just spaced the rails bolts about 3/8" with metal brake line I cut. the connecters are super cheap on Ebay.

 

Because I bought a truck motor with truck injectors and connectors. I just needed an LS1 intake for hood clearance.

 

For me it was because I started off with a truck motor, truck harness and I have two different sets of truck injectors and the connector/pigtails to run either one I wanted.

I didn't have ls1 injectors in hand nor the ev1 connectors to wire in so I could use them.

But lucky for me I scored some.. what are supposed to be very low mileage ls1 injectors and now just need to go junk yard diving for ev1 connectors/pigtails to wire in.

Hood clearance wasn't a issue for me though. I could run truck intake no problem.

 

I bought a set of 8 EV1 connectors from Ebay for $17 and an LS1 intake with rails and injectors for $80 from a local guy that put a FAST intake on his Camaro.
