How is that fiberglass holding up? Still sticking to the intake just fine?

So you're saying that your shaved intake reinforced with fiberglass held up well with boost? If so, how long or mile guestimation, some idea of how long it lasted?

I was concerned that the fiberglass may separate with the heat cycles. guessing you haven't had that issue?

I see we were both having the same thoughts.

Yes we are, I have 2 truck intakes and an LS6 intake that I can use but these truck intakes smoothed look really nice. The other question is if I will be able to fit a truck intake under my hood.

Ha! I'm in the same situation. I have the LS6 intake on my 92 Camaro, but would rather ditch it to put money in my pocket and just run a truck intake... if it fits. I think that I've got to run a 2" cowl hood to clear the truck intake though.

I'll likely test this out eventually. Just need to get it running with the LS6 intake for now.

Got everything smoothed and painted. Got a set of LS1 fuel rails but the guy said they would not fit a truck intake...completely different the guy said. Figured the injector spacing would be the same just the rail brackets would have to change. Well, that took a couple of hours making 4 brackets and everything looks good. Ordered the fuel lines and -AN fittings. Getting close to being able to bolting it on.

Plastic welded up all the holes, but I could never get the fiberglass to actually bond (wanted to do a couple layers of matting just for reinforcement). Now it's sitting on a shelf and I'm running a single plane EFI setup on the new motor.

Got a few of the fittings in but the braided line is still (somewhere)! Got to thinking about using plain black fuel injection hose so made one up. The black hose will sorta disappear when it's on the engine where braided hose will stand out in a non-bling engine bay. Which do you vote for; black or braided?

Maybe stainless to kinda match your red/white/blue theme you've accidentally got going there. And since it's in the front and you've got a fancy intake, the stainless will go well. If it was in the rear, I'd say black hose.

Well, here is the finished product except for mounting the intake, making the fuel line and rerouting the wires. I'll wait for start up before redoing the wires to make sure there are no leaks. Need some blue pinstriping or something on the intake to break it up a bit. The blue trim isn't an accident, other trim on the car is in blue such as breezers, fender markers, hood flying goddess wings and blue dots. The red was what I had to work with but I like it anyway! Thanks for noticing.

Finished the wire reroute after checking for leaks. Crush washers on the rails are really hard to get dry. Fear is that I will strip the threads trying to tighten too much. Notice I didn't change the cross over from rubber to braided. Hard to see from this side and can't see it at all from the other side. Now the top of the intake looks to plain and needs something to break it up. Any ideas?

Here's my version: shaved, plastic welded, sanded, skim coat of filler, epoxy primed, sanded, 2 coats of spray on truck bed liner. The only places I masked were the injector holes and the air inlet.

Found something to break up the plain intake. With the hood open this should strike fear into anyone who wants to race!!! A bit too far over the top?
