You can slide your hand or fingers? I cant do my hand, maybe a finger, i think cause of the stock fbody pan. I see the ctsv pan has about a 1" + difference from the fbody to where it would hit the crossmember where the sump is at.

Yeah I can get my hand back there. I did mount my engine differently though. there are pics of my mounts in my thread. I used "standard location" mounts and when I installed them the engine was too far forward and the truck pan was setting on the crossmember. So I raised it up enough to clear that and the powersteering pulley. then I moved it back to where I had the 700r4 mounted, drilled holes in the frame and spaced the frame mounts and bolted in. When I cracked the truck pan. When the engine was noisey I put the CTS-V pan in with the new motor and I have excellent clearance.

I tried the fbody pan, wouldn't fit. Rubbed the crossmember and the engine was too close to the firewall for my liking.

That autokraft pan looks nice! What do they run? I thought most of those aftermarket pans had remote mount filters (ie pain in the ***)

Yeah, the retrolsx stuff was actually a prototype for the Holley stuff. It is now Holley. Shawn is my LS guy, and retrolsx is indeed still in business, as one of the larger volume LS engine movers in the country. I just picked up my headers from him a couple weeks back. Great guy, great service, incredible knowledge.

I have been reading these for months now to get an idea of what parts fit and how much. It looks to me like the cts pan is a good choice. I found it for $117 on gmpartsdirect. Thats just from what I have seen on here. Very cool build 99VetteFRC and bczee

Best answer: NONE OF THE ABOVE!

Mast, AutoKraft, Holley FTW if you want a stock oil filter location. If you are going to relocate then there are several more options like Milodon, Stef's etc.

I'm really liking the look of the Autokraft pan, especially the baffles.

is the holley still without baffling?

i cant understand why someone doest make one of these 100%. champ/autokraft has trap doors, but its a sheetmetal pan with no bolts on the back and requires trimming with a block plate. the mast pan has some baffles, is cast, but is without bolts on the rear. the holley is cast with bolts to the rear, but without any baffles. im going to run some auto-x and road course events and want the oil control of the autokraft without having to trim the pan or drill extra holes. who makes one?

I used stock f body pan, made my own motor mounts and used my f body hooker headers all fit fine.

Get my cts pan tomorrow...missed delivery today. If the rain stops I'll set the motor in. Have a 98 Camaro taking the garage up...rebuilding the motor for side cash.
