Default LS1 1998 Oil Pressure

Ok i have been looking and cant find what i need to know. I have a 1998 LS1 in my Nova for about a year now it has been running good but some one said the oil pressure was a little low so i wonted to ask you guys.

When Cold first start of the day its around 50-60 and when it gets warm at idle its 30-35 and running down the road at 2500 rpm its holding 40-45 i read some place that the 1998 LS1 did not have the best oil pressure when warm and running down the road dose this sound about right to you guys?

I wont to make sure all is Good i am about to leave the first of next month for the Hot Rod Power Tour and don't wont to leave with Low Oil Pressure.

Guys i Drove my Car to a Car show 2 hours from my house yesterday and on the way home i was watching to oil Gage and noticed that my Oil Pressure would Drop from 45 pounds to 40 pounds when i was on the gas and when i let off the gas it would come back up to 45psi. So to day i changed the Oil and Filter Hoping that would fix it knowing it was about time for an Oil Change but nope it did not fix it after about a 10 mile drive and the motor was up to running temp it would do the samething.

But when i would get on the Gas Hard and kick it down to Passing Gear it would Come Back up to 60-70 psi and hold good.

I was looking around on here and found a thread a guy had that his car was doing about the same thing and he said that it could be the Thrush Bearing that the motor has to much end play in the crank and its walking to much.

All so when i changed the oil on my car to day i found some metal shavings on the Oil Plug not a lot Bus some when i wiped it off on a clean White rag you could see it and it was built up on magnet on the end of the Oil Plug.

Any help from you guys would be GREAT i am about to Leave for the Hot Rod Power Tour in 3 weeks and do not wont to Lose Oil Pressure when i am 5 hours from home on the road.

If oil pressure is still roughly 35 psi hot and hits 60+ on the throttle, I'd say you're good.

It has 35psi at idle when Hot and 40-45 when driving down the road at 2000rpm but i just don't like it Dropping down on oil pressure when i get on the gas it should not do that anytime your on the gas a motor should build oil Pressure on the gas not Lose it even if its only 5psi.

98 blocks are known for lower oil pressure. I wouldnt be very worried unless theres a drastic drop in pressure.
