I currently have a 1995 automatic 3.8L V6 camaro and My cousin has a wrecked 2000 SS SLP camaro. He has offered me his SS to use as a donor car for a complete conversion to a manual LS1 in a 1995 v6. I was trying to find some help, I am wondering what kind of modifications and or fabricating I will have to do. I want to use all the motor components, trans, clutch, rear end, brakes, wheels, wiring, and anything else necessary to complete the swap. Can I use all the parts from the SS or is there anything I will have to buy aftermarket? And will all the parts fit into the 1995? and what modifications will I have to make to do the swap?

Your better off trying to fix the SLP. For multiple reasons. The biggest one being your going to have as much work in the swap as you will in fixing the Ss. And the Ss will be worth more in the end.

You can swap it over fairly easily. The only real fabrication you will have to do will be to cut the tunnel for the t56 and drill a hole in the firewall for the master cylinder. Roll the entire drivetrain our of the SS and underneath your camaro. Then you will need to adapt the ls1 to your current instrument cluster/wiring (easy as well....many write ups). My 94 camaro started life as a 3.4/auto. It has since had a sbc 383/T56 and now a turbo 5.3/T56. It will just take some time and effort. Read the stickies, they will be a huge help.

The pre LS1 (and possibly even 97...not sure about them) center consoles have removable centers - the piece that surround the shifter on the manual and auto cars. You can pop it out and buy one for a manual that will take its place.

I realize that but will allow the shifter to fit without swapping the whole center console? Beacuse like i said earlier I know that the shifters have slightly different positions in each of the 4 th gens
