Question Coil springs???

Hi, does anyone know if i must change the original coil springs on the elco with the ls swap or can i just run the originals?? Please help..

The LS is a bit lighter than the SBC since it is all aluminum. You should be good with the stock springs. You will love this thing when you get it up and running.

I just had my friend work on my tranny tunnel. Came out preety nice.

I restored a 67 ElCo using a 2000 LS1 Corvette motor, I used the hooker motor mounts. They boltt onto the block and the stock 67 Mounts bolt to it.

You can use the stock coil springs, the Complete LS motor is lighter than a cast iron block. I bought the CPP coil over setup for my 67 it works sweet.

Reviving a dead thread...

Out of curiosity, what trans mount did you use? Build your own? The Elk frame is different from the Chevelle and I'm still thinking through a trans cross member solution. Looks like I'll be building my own.

i had to build my own, pretty , just cut the mounting part of the trans mount and flip it up side up so itll coup the t56 mount. Just weld back and all set. The orginal support you have to modify along the frame. They dont fit in stock location.
