Default LS1 F-body headers

Hey guys, I'm swapping a LQ9 into my 1972 Chevelle and I will be using hookers motor mount plates or the BRP hot rods kit. My question is can I run pacesetters F-body headers for my swap? Or should I just bite the bullet and buy a set of swap headers ? Has anyone ran F-body headers here for swaps into chevelle's? Thanks in advance.

probably going to take some modification either way so unless you can get a used set of pacesetters, maybe get the stainless ebay headers? would have to have access to a TIG welder unfortunately

I am currently doing a 72 el camino and used some ebay stainless f body headers with f body pan and dirty dingo slider mounts. The mounts are slid as far back as they will go. The headers have room for days. The oil pan is 1/16th in. away from k member in one spot so a bit of die grinder clearance and everything fits perfectly.

I know its not a Chevelle, but I'm using F-body headers on my C3 corvette...something to be aware of is that the driver's side header actually angles out toward the frame a little. You'll need to account for that in your exhaust routing.

Default Bending Ebay Headers

Chris. Hey man, I used a set of Ebay SS heades for my Nova swap. With a torch and some work they can be manipulated quite a bit to fit the application. Check out the thread I put together, might give you some ideas:

Good luck!

Using F-Body headers have been used for some time now. but they might or will need to be modified some.. the area that might need it are the #1 Tube and the Collector(s).

Some have successfully used them without any modification. It can be a hit and miss depending on what combination of plates and mounts you select to used.. Mix and matching is a hit and miss game you have to be willing to play.

I always recommend going with one vendor if possible.. If you got the Hooker plates, go with the Hooker headers to ensure all fit as desgined.

Do a search in the A-body threads to see what combindations other are using. I myself have a unique setup. Early BRP style plates, Tall/Narrow engine mounts and Short/Wide frame stands and using Edelbrock Headers. That puts the engine about as far back as I could move it, but that caused me to modify the Trans Tunnel.

Good luck,

What diameter are the LS ebay headers primary tubes? They all say 1.75" in/out, but a few say 1 5/8" (1.625") primary tubes. And the ones that say 1.75" in/out don't specify primary tube diameter. Wtf....
