possible wiring problem
possible wiring problem I'm finishing up a straightforward lq4 swap into a 98 camaro base. My car has no BCM and the VATS has been bypassed. I dropped in the motor with a 4l60e with all the proper wiring from an ls1. I believe everything is connect except the oil level sensor plug which I need to repair and all the EGR connections as I have deleted that system. The weird thing is that I get power through the car and to the starter but the fuel pump does not engage. I am aware that I need to jumper two wires to make all 8 coils fire properly but what confuses me is why doesn't my odometer read out and why does my fuel pump not prime? Is there something I missed in the wiring procedure or do I need to start testing for a dead pump? (working fine before parking) any help is appreciated
Did you hook up the Fuel Pump Prime Wire?
You dont have to jump two wires to get the coils to work...I have them on seperate circuits.
Kinda hard to tell without seeing how you wired everything..

Fuel pump is triggered power from relay. PCM signals ground to relay. Check continutity from PCM to relay, check for power at oppostie pin on relay. Check continuity from battery to pin on relay and continuity from opposite side of battery power on relay. Then check continuity from battery to fuel pump connector with key on (should power on for about 3 seconds). Check for 12v at pump. If it's not present repeat these steps to rule out short to grounded wire or open wire. IF power is at pump and it doesn't turn on, then pump may have gone bad.

Yeah I know its hard to diagnose wo looking at it but everything from v6 plugs into v8. everything under the dash matched perfectly under the hood connectors c100 to c101 to c105 were almost identical minus like four wires which i'm about to repin as much as possible but the non-matching stuff mostly belong to bs like AC stuff.
could anyone help me id the primary pump wire? been through alldata and tried to find the exact wire.. not so sure which one help on that would be appreciated.
After some continuity tests it seems like everything that needs power is getting it. except maybe that fuel wire. which one is it definitely?

little update. added in the missing oil level sensor and then grounded out the three harness grounds to the valve cover under a coil and then ran a strap from there to the chassis. Also got a wild hair and changed the instrument cluster to one I picked up locally from a v8 wreck. I found that the seatbelt light stays on all the time, igntion or no and that the left turn signal indicator stays on too. signals work on the body and stuff... thoughts?
Did some more work on the fuel issue, if I jumper the relay I get fuel. Replaced the fuse but same result. should I just permanently jumper it?
