Hesitation/popping only when fan comes on.
So my car, a 1968 camaro with an lq4 enqine,ls3 heads, GM computer, ls3 intake, and a 222/230 cam runs like a raped ape. The throttle response is amazing, the car has teriffic street manners, the 4l80e chirps the tires into second and third, everything you would want in a dd conversion.
Then the fan turns on.
It becomes a completely different car. The car hesitates on light throttle, pops out the exhaust on acceleration, and is down on power.
I have a Lincoln mark 8 fan, and an internal walbro 255 pump. Aside from the stock GM engine electronics, no other electronics are hooked up. My alternator is a 105 amp stock. Is it not putting out enough juice? What else could this be?

I would start there and see what happens. Try wiring up the fans directly to a switch from the battery. WHen the computer commands the fans to power on, it will only energize the relay, not the fans. And you can drive the car and it not over heat, but see if it is a power draw, or something in the tune.

The fans not blowing in/on or around the air filter?
Could be too much of a power draw, I know those fans draw a lot of current. I run a 140A alt, might be worth looking into an upgrade.

The fan could be loading down the power circuit to either your computer, coil packs or injectors. It might also be putting out a bunch of electrical noise that would do the same. Running it straight off the battery will probably tell you.
Believe it or not I have had dirty battery posts cause a similar issue. Car use to momentaryily stall every time I turned on the turn signal.

I actually just tried to wire my power circuit directly to the alternator, and did the same with my fuel pump. No dice. It just could be that the tune falls out of whack above a certain iat temperature. Or it could be that the fan draw too much juice for the alternator.
